So you think everyone currently on LCWRA will have a reassessment after April 2026 but before the scrapping of the WCA?

Everyone on LCWRA will still get the higher basic rate from next year but, I still cant understand WHY they have moved alot of people off IR ESA to UC to give them this higher rate, which is now being frozen.

I think they mean if you can't reach to wash your back.

Afraid from the green paper just read this about ESA(CB) Support Group and doesn't read very well
"54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC"
So looks like scrapping WCA in 2028 and also this new limited time cb work insurance starts replacing jsa(cb) and esa(cb). So to get anything non means tested for sickness you get nothing after the limited time.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at your comment. You know why 💛
I can't wash my hair myself and need help getting into the shower. I also need help to the toilet - Crohn's and very limited mobility don't work well together. Sorry if that's TMI but it's a fact of life for many of us.
Who is going to assess this and make the decisions that with regards to the fact that 'many conditions will improve'.
Please keep in touch4 -
Please please remember these changes are not set in stone, they are "proposed changes" and a lot can happen between now and when the paper gets all the way through the government framework. It may even get voted down. We can't give any answers to what will happen with X or Y, as that information has not been given, because it has yet to be finalised.
Again, please try not to panic. Now we have seen the plans, we can now work toward addressing issues that may arise for the disabled community. 😊15 -
oh thank you 🙏. So if I don’t get a letter to migrate can I decide to migrate myself and keep that higher rate ?

can only hope that this will be watered down and if I’m reassessed under LCWRA that I’ll stay in the same group but I’ve tried applying PIP and I wasn’t accepted so god knows what’ll happen in a couple of years. If I’m forced to interact with the job centre and even if I’m reassessed I will have no choice but to indulge in dangerous behaviours which puts me at risk to cope. Im hoping that most of this won’t go through if I’m honest cos it will cause me serious harm and if I can I’m going to put that on the consultation, not like they will care

Can anyone tell me what it means for me ,I am on old style ESA work activity group, have been for over 20 years , due to severe anxiety disorder, also got awarded pip 4 years , I did get a points above 2 in daily living, are the push me into jobseeker, despite being in the work activity group, I haven't had to do any work activity because of most severe anxiety ? Can't see anywhere where I now sit with this ?

If thats true; yours will be next yr

The TP is only given on managed migrations (when they send you the letter), if you would have no TP because UC is more than what you currently get, then you could initiate your own migration with no financial loss and the higher award, although I am not sure if there is any downsides in doing this. Maybe someone like Kimmy87 or poppy knows the answer with more certainty.

Oh of course . I’ve been diagnosed cervical spondylitis since my last assessment due to the pains in my neck and arm/s so I struggle most days with all of it . That’s where they catch you , award 2 for something when you should get the 4

That was mean to read I didn't get more that 2 points on any daily living

Apparently the idea to abolish NHS England was all part of the plan to give the Government more control over the Health and Benefits system by taking decisions away from g.ps and access into 'Vanguard ' Rishi Sunaks Wife's company (apparently).Keir Starmer has said its so as not to duplicate departments. But it simply means that the Dwp will have even more powers led by Government as over 9000 job loses will be Immediate with NHS England gone

for those of us in LCWRA of UC, did she say our LCWRA element won’t be reduced until next April or am I misunderstanding? so we will keep getting the LCWRA amount + the basic rate for the rest of the year, at least?
(sorry if that’s a silly question but I’m so confused and am trying to sort out my budget for next few months)

you gotta laugh haven’t you as so much of it makes no sense.

Possibly, as far as I know they could turn them back on at a flick of a switch so they may have even announced after they had resumed. However WCAs were not stopped completely, it was just the automatic WCAs, they could still be triggered manually by staff.

Absolutely agree. Like you, I've been feeling really ground down, but it also makes me angry.
People who have no idea of the situation are making decisions about those who have to live with a situation on a daily basis.
I notice Ed Davey's keeping very quiet, despite the fact he has always mentioned his disabled son and his wife with MS.2 -
I'm caught in two minds reading the responses here, some are ok with things, some are desperate.
I don't know anyone who is going to employ someone who has CPTSD and Rage orientated disorders, that was why I was let go of my last job.
Only in Britain where it's a crime to be screwed in the head, or physically incapacitated, nowhere else. I really don't like this country as you can tell, British don't get enthusiastic about anything other than Football and making vulnerable people's live a living hell.
