Simple answer is start spending and enjoying yourself before it changes then get UC and all the other benefits that you get with that like free prescriptions, dentist, housing benefit, cheaper internet, water and then when your older they will pay for your care because you've got no savings. it's all wrong, they have made it even more of a reason not to work in my opinion

I'm just sitting here thinking what has this country come to.

I'm in the middle of forced migration. I say forced because they forced me to do it. They kept calling my house, asking me when I was going to submit my form (I left it until last minute because of all the stress I'd previously gone through with the JC), when I started ignoring their calls, they sent me a text message telling me that they'll organise a home visit for me to complete their precious form. I completed the form last week and am sitting here waiting for them to do whatever they are going to do until 5th April.

    Now this happens today.

I have no idea where I stand.

I've been going through reassessments for both ESA and PIP the last 2.5 years. I finally got my ESA finally completed last Jan (2024) and placed back in the support group. My PIP after a year was completed this Jan (2025). None of that was easy. All of it stressful. Having to go through your form over the telephone and trying to explain to someone what a nightmare your life is was miserable and horrible. Thankfully, the lady who did my assessment was actually a decent lady and seemed aware of Lupus and all the ugliness that goes with it.

    Now today happens.

What happens to all those assessments I went through? Do they even count now? Do I have to be reassessed again? I found my PIP paperwork from Jan 2025, the lady who did the assessment didn't even state how long my award is for. She just said, using the information from my other assessment, she can issue a longer award..what does that even mean?

I thought this was normal, until today when everyone in here on PIP seems to know how long their awards are. Also checked my daily living and mobility component and I'm on enhanced for both and I have 2s and 3s on the daily living component and only one 4. Like many here have said, I suspect that will magically disappear at next assessment.

Genuinely thought I had just finished with all this reassessment nonsense in Jan, but looks like this never ending hamster wheel is just going to keep turning.

I'm tired and exhausted by the whole thing.

    I

Yes that was the only glimmer I took from today, Recordings.

This is something long overdue because the bonus payments these people get

has no place when people's lives are depending on at least a fair and informed hearing.

I wont lie I have never like Wes Streeting, ME, Long covid they need investment and the NHS needs a rollout of a plan, Kendall really should visit a long covid clinic (the ones there are)

and see the kids there then ask herself why younger people are claiming, A lot of them basically are getting over house arrest where for months they were denied contact with the outside world, Life experiences and friends. They keep saying about the increase since the pandemic, we had one of the worst outcomes in the World,

Dear lord how many programmes did ITV make about the impact on Derek Draper.

Its an inconvenient truth they want to avoid I sincerely hope at the committee stage

MP's and groups highlight conditions like ME and Long covid.

it’s only since long Covid that ME has really been talked about. I’ve had ME diagnosed many years with no interest then suddenly it’s all long Covid. But still no help for ME.

As for them recording it I’ll still record it myself as last time dwp wrote that they wanted it recorded. On the day Atos called me 30 mins before assessment to say assessor didn’t have equipment. Then they lied and blamed dwp

Will people only on lcwra be reassessed with the new 4 point pip criteria after 2026? Or when they get rid of the WCA in 2028? Please someone help

Reviews recorded, coupled with more scrutiny on our parts(reems of info regarding our disabilities-dont be boxed into their small little box of "add info here") and their need for claims to not go to tribunal; i see a glimmer of hope for the rights to not go so wrong!

I'm on LCWRA but I'm going to have to try and push myself to claim PIP as well now for more security because of all this. Labour are just costing themselves more money.

Well, that will be me gone then three years before I reach retirement age. That will make it nice and difficult for people like myself as we head towards retirement :(

I assume it's to "encourage" people to switch over to unemployment benefits instead of disability, so they can then be pushed into work. Of course it's going to be a death sentence for those who can't work, but that's just a great way to get rid of useless eaters.

They'll be legally accountable for any workplace accident or worsening of the person's condition. Being forced into work just cannot happen to a person who legitimately cannot work!

Same here, so I will lose that and will have to cancel my care for daily living help

Evening everyone. I apologise I haven't read through this whole thread yet, I will when I have the mental energy to - so I don't know if this has already been asked.

I get 8 points in the engaging with others descriptor, because I can't. I also get LCWRA under the old regulations about substantial risk, which is related to my inability to mix with people.

They said they are giving LCWRA to people who will still be eligible for PIP, which hopefully I will be, however they are going to introduce a compulsory 'expectation to engage' even then. So, given that I will only get PIP because of my inability to engage, how can they then make me engage in order to get LCWRA??!! What will happen if I don't, will I be sanctioned? Refused LCWRA?? It makes no sense all this.

They'll likely work around it like this .."this person can work from home ,as he will not have the uncomfortable position of engaging with people in person"

Apologies if this has been said numerous times already but I’m a disabled person who received their most recent award a couple of weeks ago. Like a lot of folks on here I get standard rate daily living and enhanced mobility but none of my daily living is rated individually at 4 so I’m stuffed for half of my award going forward. My award is due for renewal in 2030 - does anyone know if I’ll be reassessed in Nov 2026 when all this kicks in or will they see through my award to 2030? Thanks.

You should be good to 2030, but they will usually start the review before the end date.

it’s all really getting to me this evening I didn’t feel so bad about it when it was just released in Parliament but knowing I’ve been rejected for PIP yet still mentally ill, currently get LCWRA but no help from the nhs anymore as cbt doesn’t work and I’m waiting for a referral for adhd and autism. Now if these plans go through I’ll be in poverty in a couple of years with no prospect of being able to work. I just feel hopeless I wish I could be as normal as liz Kendall thinks I am as if I could just not be unwell none of this would be a worry but it’s consuming me and last time I got worried like this over reassessments I developed psychosis from the paranoia and thought I wasn’t even real like I was in the Truman show everyone was out to get me. So sick of the DWP worsening my mental health and the news and everything else it’s just too much

Say someone no longer quality's for the Daily Living Allowance but they have the motability component with the car etc, will they still keep this part?

this is what I want to know too. I’ve got enhanced mobility so eligible for motor support yet no 4s in my daily living, will the disability pass, blue badge be revoked? I’m completely reliant on these, it makes no sense this 4 points seems so arbitrary?
