Will people only on lcwra be reassessed with the new 4 point pip criteria after 2026? Or when they get rid of the WCA in 2028? Please someone help

Reviews recorded, coupled with more scrutiny on our parts(reems of info regarding our disabilities-dont be boxed into their small little box of "add info here") and their need for claims to not go to tribunal; i see a glimmer of hope for the rights to not go so wrong!

I'm on LCWRA but I'm going to have to try and push myself to claim PIP as well now for more security because of all this. Labour are just costing themselves more money.

Well, that will be me gone then three years before I reach retirement age. That will make it nice and difficult for people like myself as we head towards retirement :(

I assume it's to "encourage" people to switch over to unemployment benefits instead of disability, so they can then be pushed into work. Of course it's going to be a death sentence for those who can't work, but that's just a great way to get rid of useless eaters.

They'll be legally accountable for any workplace accident or worsening of the person's condition. Being forced into work just cannot happen to a person who legitimately cannot work!

Same here, so I will lose that and will have to cancel my care for daily living help

Evening everyone. I apologise I haven't read through this whole thread yet, I will when I have the mental energy to - so I don't know if this has already been asked.
I get 8 points in the engaging with others descriptor, because I can't. I also get LCWRA under the old regulations about substantial risk, which is related to my inability to mix with people.
They said they are giving LCWRA to people who will still be eligible for PIP, which hopefully I will be, however they are going to introduce a compulsory 'expectation to engage' even then. So, given that I will only get PIP because of my inability to engage, how can they then make me engage in order to get LCWRA??!! What will happen if I don't, will I be sanctioned? Refused LCWRA?? It makes no sense all this.

They'll likely work around it like this .."this person can work from home ,as he will not have the uncomfortable position of engaging with people in person"

Apologies if this has been said numerous times already but I’m a disabled person who received their most recent award a couple of weeks ago. Like a lot of folks on here I get standard rate daily living and enhanced mobility but none of my daily living is rated individually at 4 so I’m stuffed for half of my award going forward. My award is due for renewal in 2030 - does anyone know if I’ll be reassessed in Nov 2026 when all this kicks in or will they see through my award to 2030? Thanks.

You should be good to 2030, but they will usually start the review before the end date.

it’s all really getting to me this evening I didn’t feel so bad about it when it was just released in Parliament but knowing I’ve been rejected for PIP yet still mentally ill, currently get LCWRA but no help from the nhs anymore as cbt doesn’t work and I’m waiting for a referral for adhd and autism. Now if these plans go through I’ll be in poverty in a couple of years with no prospect of being able to work. I just feel hopeless I wish I could be as normal as liz Kendall thinks I am as if I could just not be unwell none of this would be a worry but it’s consuming me and last time I got worried like this over reassessments I developed psychosis from the paranoia and thought I wasn’t even real like I was in the Truman show everyone was out to get me. So sick of the DWP worsening my mental health and the news and everything else it’s just too much

Say someone no longer quality's for the Daily Living Allowance but they have the motability component with the car etc, will they still keep this part?

this is what I want to know too. I’ve got enhanced mobility so eligible for motor support yet no 4s in my daily living, will the disability pass, blue badge be revoked? I’m completely reliant on these, it makes no sense this 4 points seems so arbitrary?

HI watch Noah Lyle on you tube he explains it well.

I have fibromyalgia and me/cfs too and the assessors don't seem to understand it. I also have osteoarthritis, vertigo, ibs, hypermobility syndrome plus anxiety and depression. Even with all that it's currently impossible for me to get 4 points on pip according to them. It's currently out for review and I had an advocate fill it in so we will see what happens this time. What with being on ESA because I worked all my life which they want to abolish and having savings my benefits would go down to nothing but I am still unable to work. What exactly do they expect people to do. Classic thing I read online today was that only paralysed people deserve benefits everyone else are lazy shirkers and should be sent out to work on minimum wage!

I truly believe this is the Libdem 2010 moment all over again.
They went into the Election stating those with the broadest shoulder need to pay more
because the Daily Mail and others printed non stop negative stories, Oh look the non **** tax and other taxes aimed at Rich people were watered down into the Inheritance tax.
Now Starmer says these reforms are a moral duty, I say this as a long term labour supporter
and former member until Miliband became leader I will NEVER vote for them again.
This thread is very active but 100% last Summer after the GE a story emerged that PIP was going to be the gateway payment for UC and WCA would be axed, When these reforms and the non stop leaks started to cause panic for the spin doctors they suggested owing to "Global" events it forced this.
No Global events would see them accept a brilliant deal from Macron that would see the UK on a 2nd tier with the EU that would drop red tape drop the bad situation of good being delayed owing to the divergence the Tories allowed, If the UK just aligned itself within a year
GDP Growth would be around 2.2% for basically just doing nothing other than assured quality of goods and services like when we were in the EU. Brilliant 1st step and the added bonus of making Farage and Co Furious. This is why you cant take anything Starmer and Reeves says seriously.
Like in 2010 they have made a political choice to YET again target disabled people, because since 1979 that's all its been target the sick and disabled keep messing around, 14 years of the NHS being underfunded after 11 years of Thatcher and they wonder why sections of society declined in health.
I know I sound like a broken record and truly sorry, but for them to stand there and keep saying this is for the "good" of people on Benefits…they just allowed the same people to endure months of worry for papers to use the PIP voucher story to make ££££ for Clicks
there was a whole stack of Stories they could have just said straight months ago these will not happen, but that would have robbed her of the dramatic raised voice of "NO PIP VOUCHERS"
in the HOC today.

I also get vertigo but thought it was due to my hearing loss . Is it another fibromyalgia symptom ? My last assessor had good knowledge and even read all my evidence including my medical notes but she down graded points to 2 per question

I'm so, so sorry you're going through this, I really feel for you. One of my health conditions is ADHD and it just does a number on your mental health, the waiting lists are awful. I had to save up money and borrow some to go private to just get a diagnosis (I was a late adult diagnosis), I've given up on trying to get medication for it.
I'm currently working on putting together a guide to help people with ADHD, from diagnosis to every day coping, including resources, links etc. There are some things that can help including on YouTube just to cope with daily life and mental health. They aren't fixes but do help. My mental health's been a wreak recently partially due to these annoucements (also other personal stuff). once I've done it - or done a rough version I'd be happy to post it to hopefully help people.
Counselling helps me - CTB is a no-no for me. There are sites that offer discounted or sometimes free counselling (there's also the NHS Let's Talk but got a long wait list) - you could also get a trainee counsellor as they have to do a certain number of hours of counselling to qualify.
There are specific channels for ADHD and there's also channels for Autism-ADHD as well that can be useful.
I could give some tips/advice that help me if you're interested? No pressure though.
