I have hemiplegia CP, so I’m not sure which one would be the best one, health or acquired brain injury 🤔

Hi. Its from benefitsandwork.co.uk. if you read through it it looks like the government are trying to get everything sorted by May so they can rush the changes through without proper consultation

Starmer is putting the changes to a vote which means it will become the law of the land, I guess the Lords could amend the changes but I'm not sure.

The House of Lords can't amend a financial bill. This goes back to them refusing to pass Lloyd George's 1909 'People's Budget'. I imagine this amounts to being a financial bill.

George V had to threaten to create hundreds of new Liberal peers, which of course terrified the majority tory lords!

So starmer putting pip through as money bills cannot be challenged in court or by house of lords only delayed what's the next thing to do if no one can challenge it ?

I might be wrong, Catherine. I just remember from evening classes, that they can't oppose anything relating to money.

Thing is this "4 point rule" surely would require a consultation? We know their Green Paper will get challenged.

Parliament Act 1911. That was passed to define the relationship between the two houses.

The HofL can't veto a 'money bill'.

the 4 point rule is not part of the consultation.

I think that’s why they can vote for it so soon.

Wether that can be legally challenged, I don’t know
