This is the obvious consequence of the social model of disability. To spend less money on the disabled.

That is, disabled people can only write letters, but charitable societies have secret levers of influence on the government. Clear and understandable.

It's amazing how people change once they have a glimmer of power. I used to think Bryant was a good guy with integrity - honest, reasonable, pragmatic, steady.
He now appears to have chugged heavily on the KoolAid. 😥

I think the vast majority of MPs are very selfish and only looking out for themselves, only Corbyn and McDonnell along with the other Labour rebels have shown to me they stick to their principles and are worthy of representing their constituents.

Can you give evidence of the effect of PIP cuts?

Benefits and Work has created a brief, anonymous questionnaire about the PIP cuts in which your answers will immediately be published online. The one page survey is for anyone who currently gets PIP daily living without scoring any 4 point descriptors.
The purpose is to provide some of the evidence about who the cuts will affect and how, which the government is desperately trying to keep hidden from the public.
So please consider completing the survey. It will allow, campaigners, researchers, journalists, MPs and ordinary members of the public to get a better understanding of who Labour is targeting as it tries to rush through these savage cuts.
In the survey you are asked not to give your real name or any name you routinely use online, in order to protect your privacy as your answers will be immediately published online.

jul1aorways, What about the thousands of people who are not going to be able cope!! 😮 Disabled people who are nearing or already in poverty, WHO KNOW that they will not be able to eat, pay bills or keep a roof over their head! People who face destitution, temporary accommodation or even the streets!! 😥
Those are the people I worry about too. Not those of us with an income, home and internet access ie relatively safe circumstances.

WhatThe. (I ask as you in my opinion have a lot of knowledge, a compliment based on what I've read on this thread)
What in your opinion is the end goal of Labour's plans? Will their Green and White papers get watered down and in the past did the Tories and the Labour government during the 2000s push for cuts and reforms and how were the outcomes?
I only started claiming incapacity orientated benefits in 2023, I held off for years and that made my situation far worse. So my historical knowledge of Government attacks on disability/incapacity benefits is slim.
I have studied the importance of the Human Rights act 1998 and Equalities Act 2010 when it comes to government's of the day going after disabled people so surely there's a line in the sand between proportionate reforms to cruel and disproportionate actions.

I refuse to let any of these benefit reforms dominate my daily thoughts.
I distract myself by having time away from this thread.
I live in a beautiful place and the weather has been great and set to continue all week so I will be outdoors.
Our winters are too long and cold.
I am trying to keep optomistic that Liebour will be brought to account and that these reforms may not be as harsh as they would like.
As @Albus_Scope has mentioned although charities aren't speaking out, there is work going on behind the scenes on our behalf and I have faith in that.
I must admit that it would offer some reassurance if the charities were more vocal but we need to try and have faith that these proposals are very likely to be watered down.

Look up the 2011 amended ESA regs then read the Green Paper, White Paper, Committee report etc

However, the review also identified a number of ways in which the WCA could be improved and the policy advanced. We agreed with the recommendations of this review and announced on 29 June 2010 that we would implement all of them . The Employment and Support Allowance (Amendment) Regulations 2011 implement these changes to the WCA.
2. Proposed changes and rationale
Ensuring that where Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity is demonstrated, Limited Capability for Work is also demonstrated

Could Scope get a Labour MP for Q&A on here. A lot of us probably have a lot of questions. The PM himself would be a start. Obviously they won't do it.

I am not a moderator for them but a fellow disabled forum member.
Personally I do not trust a single word Liebour say so if Scope did get them to engage with this community I would rather watch paint dry than give my time of day to them.
As far as I am concerned they hate the disabled community and their ridiculous cruel welfare reforms have told us that loud and clear.
