There is a section in the Green Paper that gave the impression that this "reform" was for "new claims":
53. Unemployment insurance would be a new non-means tested entitlement for people who have contributed into the system. It would be created by replacing contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) with a new single entitlement, paid at the current ESA rate (currently £138pw) and will be time-limited. This would provide stronger income protection during periods of unemployment for those with a recent work record, while revitalising the ‘something-for-something’ contributory principle in the working-age system. People claiming this would be expected to actively seek work, with easements for those with work-limiting health conditions.
54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC, depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA, by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC.
Has anybody heard more about this forgotten "reform"?

I read this online yesterday, I can't remember who wrote the articles but if you search it you will probably find it,I haven't said anything I don't believe to be true, the article stated it had approached all the insurance companies for comment but all had declined.it certainly explains a lot and it wouldn't surprise me if some mps had financial ties to those companies ,it happens all the time.

Oh I found it "disability news service "put out the article ,you can easily find it if you type " insurance companies behind the benefit cuts" in Google search

Sorry I can't provide a link it doesn't work, I've just noticed that others have found it and also commented, I don't think disability news service would give out incorrect Information and the response they received from the insurance companies is what you would expect to see, in effect a "no comment "comment.

I don’t think the damage this is doing and will do in the future will ever be measured accurately. I know my MH is worse than it was a year ago yet I have to plow on, dealing with major physical disability without family and friends.

That’s an excellent idea Catherine

Starmer doesn’t care about a second term anyway so by the time anything comes out he’ll be in a cushy EU job and all the back benchers that support the cuts will be jobless

Got up this morning determined to have a good day, turned tv on and there is Reeves gurning her face and speaking with that dreadful voice of hers, I’m not having a good day. Just can’t stop thinking about things.
These last few weeks I have never felt so distanced from society, feel like a second class citizen and I think that’s how others see me too.

I feel exactly the same Martin but we must remember we are not second class citizens. And we all have value , especially on this forum we value you

For me this seems very personal, it's not about saving money, it's a vicious and spiteful attack like Disabled people have personally done something wrong to Liz Kendall.
I hope there are legal mechanisms for taking legal action against a politician or politicians, I mean personally, as in a class action against one politician for human rights abuses.

Will do Catherine.

Liz Kendall is a psychopath! @JasonRA You're right. She doesn't have a heart. In my opinion, she is driven by power and throws out these harebrained ideas to play games. Job coaches in hospitals and care homes, restricting PIP and putting a minimum age on people being allowed to claim LCWRA and now she's going after carers!
She needs to go!

I've sent them to Kendall, they have broken all of them plus they have broken most of us.

He won’t care about throwing Kendall under the bus as he’s already done it to reeves cooper and Philip’s . If I’m up to it tmrw I’m going to email starmer again

Yes my daughter got upset with me a few weeks ago,she said I'm all doom and gloom and talking about how much my mental Health has degraded over the last year ,I can't believe how much this has affected me mentally,my agoraphobia is 10x worse,I'm now struggling once again with getting into a car,I've done exposure therapy 3 times for this over the last 10 years and was getting a lot better, I'm having panic attacks at home aswell when I'm in the house on my own , I am one who us set to lose all my Income, cbesa, pip and carers allowance, almost 12k a year,it is absolutely terrifying when you still wont be beable to work after they've removed all support, just what are we expected to do?no wonder I'm a nervous wreck and on sleeping tablets.

Just thought I'd share this as a complaint can be made against a MP or Minster of the Labour Party
