Can you write a poem?.

I read a post the other day about creative writing and in reading it it prompted me to ask a question or ask a question.
  can you write a poem?
It does not have to rhyme, and can be about anything, in this case they talked about Autumn, so as a pre first post ( for me )
this is my contribution.

 Autumn Time.

The days are getting shorter as darkness comes to soon.
Cos I am waiting for that hour, that Autumn gives each year,
Its a sign that winter is around the corner,
And farmers harvest crops, the sun has bathed, yes its another year.

before frost makes the ground so hard that chills become so severe.
the leave turn that golden colour, the hues that give me good cheer,
The rustle as you walk each day, through the park to and from work,
Or when you drop the kids off to school each day and return to hear there cheer.

The park takes on a different glow as trees change their coats
before they loose them, till the beginning of next year.
I know that winter can be bitter, and oh so very cold,
but just this once to enjoy the trees, in that autumn gold.

It makes me want to paint those trees that have lost their coats,
but think this is just a cycle, and spring will be hear, with the growth of  next year.
so dont just wish the seasons to go, because you like it in the sun
but enjoy what is on offer, all made by the angle of the sun.

Some like Spring and Summer, and Winter months so cold.
But I just like the Autumn, yes the autumn of Autumn Gold.

Grammer and corrections at writers discression......... HA.
Come on all you writers have a go,  good way to introduce your self?

I'm glad to see that people, are writing now on here
their people who think that it takes skill, and probably a glass of beer.
I find that when I look at something, my brain goes into a blurr.
since I certainly don't know what is going to occur.

I can't write like Shakespear, and earn a few extra bob,
or sing like Paverotti in French, Italian or German.
But if I get one person, to burst into a verse
the post has been worth it,  like Geoark or Sandy_123 a start to just converse.

So now I think I'll leave you,
    to contemplate your next post,
and hope its helped you realise
its a stress release, and can be restful, just to give in to just one more post.

    Thanks @Justcheckingin15 ? I liked yours too
i tried to write lyrics which flowed but didn’t necessarily rhyme, it’s probably better as a song to be honest.

“This is my simple religion. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. Your own mind, your own heart is the temple. Your philosophy is simple kindness.”
