That’s great news that it has a new kitchen, and although you are going to have to do the carpets, at least you will be able to pick what you want and won’t have anybody else’s stains on them! I’m so pleased that the house is everything you wanted.

I expected to wait 2-3 years, and was offered my flat after 13 months.

Although a lot of hard work and stress are ahead, it's absolutely worth it once you are all moved and start to feel the physical benefits of living in a suitable home.

I'm so incredibly thankful that i was offered a house so quickly! Today i had a letter from my letting agency, which was posted on 13th December, the day before i gave my 1 month written notice. They are increasing my rent by £80 PCM from March 2024. This would mean a shortfall of £115 PCM, which is a huge amount for me! They made sure to tell me in the letter that as a loyal, long term tennant my rent is below market rates.... yeah right!

Thankfully, i will not be living here when the rent increases. My rent will be paid in full as a social housing tenant.

Fantastic, Poppy, you now know it's real. Hope you get a nice new keychain for Christmas to go with those keys & a bottle of bubbly stuff, to celebrate your new 'relaxed' start of your permanent new home. 👌🥂

Well, it's finally almost time to move house and stressed is an understatement! Fed up of living in mess, untidyness and too many boxes.

Carpets were laid yesterday but can't see them because the painter and decorator has covered them with dust sheets :D I'm sure they look lovely! Slight panic with the state of the walls but lining paper will hopefully sort that out. :# Now i know why they put that paper on the walls...

3 more nights in my current home before i start the next chapter. Excited and a little nervous and can't wait to get there. Thankfully, the removals will hopefully make Saturday a little easier to deal with.

I won't be online as much as normal until i've got there in one piece and i have full internet accesss, which will be sometime on 17th January. So, if anyone wonders where i am, you will know and not panic. :D

Nice to hear a happy ending to a home search story:)
I am desperately hoping for one too as the place I am living in is being sold. Since I have hardly been out in the last ten years and my mobility has deteriorated so I can hardly walk this is beyond daunting:(
