@Sandy_123Oh happy days I was referee yesterday between my 2 grandsons at the dinner table lol
I don’t have any plans I think I’m needing a day in after babysitting yesterday.
❤️1 -
I ban all devices at the dinner table they hate it. A day in is good I'm not going any where either3

Morning all, I hope you're doing well today!
I'm feeling pretty meh, I think my Crohn's Disease has been acting up a little the past few weeks. I get days I feel fine and then days of just ever-present uncomfortableness/pain. Luckily I have my 5 yearly check up later this year.
Also, speaking of gardening earlier today, we hope to start our own planting starting this coming week. My partner is the green thumb and is the one who plans it all. I just help move things around and labour away. We have some chilli seeds to put in the propagator, her chillis grew really well last year so hopefully we'll get another good crop this year.1 -
Morning @Jimm_Scope hope your flair ups ease off. Its good to grow stuff, I used to but can't manage it now. Home grown chillies are nice, use to have a chillie plant. Now I just focus on flowers, I didn't bother last year and just had the ones that came back.1
-
We had some lovely flowers last year, I think this year my partner is planting some sunflowers, gazanias, bidens and South African daisies. We actually planted the South African daises last year and they were so pretty, let me see if I can find a picture and I'll post it here1

Morning @Jimm_Scope
Gardening gives you a sense of stillness I find, with the labour side of things or the planting and then comes the harvest and then It’s all been worth it .
Hope your flare up calms down soon.2 -
Damp and drizzly here today,Mr Teigr is waiting to paint the chimney stack.2
-
This was the first one that bloomed last year, South African daisies aren't actually related to the regular daisy at all. Just when we colonised South Africa the colonists named them because they look similar. The big white petals around the central pistil? I think it's called a pistil. They actually grow in a small bushes. You can see another flower bud in the picture just below the flower that hasn't bloomed yet.5

Oh there nice @Jimm_Scope do they grow well and do they come back?
It's dried up here now @teigr suns out its about 14 degrees so might pop washer on1 -
@Sandy_123
I am with you on banning electronic devices at the dinner table if you are having a family dinner!!
@Jimm_Scope
Hi, nice to see you back2 -
What colour is the chimney going to be @Teigr?
It's really my partners hobby @Zimba, she started doing it last year and loved it. It also gets us both out the house more when the weather is nice. Helps that the veg growing can save on groceries once it's time for harvesting too!
@Sandy_123 They're annuals in our climate because they can't survive the winter, but they grow very well from spring all the way to mid-autumn. They come in different colours too! Let me just upload this picture of the other variety of South African daisy she got. It's like a deep-red colour, this also shows how they grow in little bushes. The picture quality isn't the best as I took the picture a little too close to them!3 -
Thank you @66Mustang , unfortunately you only have me for a few days before I go to Switzerland for 4 days on Thursday. My partner managed to get very cheap tickets to the airport near Basel. So we're doing a little weekend city visit. It's been a while since we went on a holiday, just the two of us.2
-
Morning @66Mustang yeah kids hate it tho they usually put them in middle rushing their food.
I do like daisy type flowers I've even got clothes with daisies on. I think I will get some of those. They look nice. Geraniums I like too as they come back.3 -
@Jimm_Scope
I hope you have a nice time. Hopefully the cheap tickets will go some way to offsetting the price of everything else in Switzerland!! Are you into watches? I would love to go to Basel one day just to look at all the watches.1 -
In our family we have a sort of inverse correlation between age and how antisocial you are with your phone
My Granny is the absolute worst - if her phone makes a noise you have to stop talking to her immediately so she can check it
My parents are not too bad on the whole but if they are on their devices talking to them is sometimes like pulling teeth out
I don't really use my phone at all, and my brother recently "withdrew from" all social media for the sake of his mental health (a man after my own heart)

I am not a huge watch person, however, I am happy to look around and take some photos of things if people have requestsWatches, buildings, statues, food, just mention it and I'll try to keep it in mind while we go about the city.
