Yes, if earnings are less than ยฃ935 in your last assessment period. Earnings refer to earned income.

SO if im on LCWRA which I should be as I'm on esa support group now...I won't ever earn any monies as I won't be working... so will that mean I'm still entitled to free scripts etc ...sorry ...all this I find very confusing and worrying ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ...

If you are not employed, self-employed (including a for-profit trade) at all, and so receiving no earned income, then you will be entitled to the free scripts still @DawnBiiwoo, I hope this helps ๐Ÿ™‚

If you would like to read up about earned income yourself you could try reading this part of the Turn2Us site

HI , my sister had her migrate letter, she is on income support & housing benefit and as far as I was aware you payments roll on for 2 weeks when you make your claim ,yet the woman told her that her payments stopped right away!! No roll on for a further 2 weeks. ๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿค”

Who advised her that? because they are not correct. Income Support as well as housing benefit, if she claims that will both continue for 2 weeks once the UC claim has been submitted.

If she's claiming Tax credits then that will stop once she submits her claim for UC.

YEs that's what I did, because that's what the kind people here told me, and also I looked on Gov.com website and it states the s ame there .even in my own migrate lettwr it states tax cred ends as soon as you make uc claim but other benefit payments continue and will end in 2 was after uc claim. The woman who she gave all info to on uc phone line as she has no Internet so had to do claim by phone, I was there and I said "so her housing benefit and income support continue for 2 weeks and the woman said "no,that is incorrect, they end as soon as she made the claim on the day she made the claim!!!

Hi @DawnBiiwoo, as you're not working, you would still be entitled to free prescriptions while your migration is happening. Until you're all set up on UC, I would continue to tick the box that you normally tick. But if you're worried about it, maybe you could mention it to the pharmacist when you go to collect your prescriptions. I'm sure they'd be able to let you know which one's best ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you, I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to get my meds...there's no info that I could find that mentions what happens to those who get free prescriptions etc when you have to move to uc in that 5 week wait period....I'd imagine many people will be really worried about it if they need thier medicines ๐Ÿ’Š....thank you. ๐Ÿ˜Š

What I did was pay for my prescriptions during that 5 week period, each time I asked for an official receipt (FP57), this allowed me to claim the money back once I had confirmation of my first UC payment.

I did that by taking the FP57's and my first UC statement into any pharmacy, to have the money refunded.

That's not an option for me, I am on 16 different medications,๐Ÿ’Š and no way would I be able to afford them all and wait 5 weeks until I got it back!!!

Two weeks after claiming UC you will get a final payment of ESA. So you can tick your normal box.

For the other three weeks you can pay & claim a refund, or tick the UC box of comfortable doing so. Because you'll be entitled to UC, just won't have confirmation yet.
