I believe in karma look at way starmer treated Jeremy corbin now the heats on him let's hope he's served the same fait seems the more money people have the more sadistic they are they can have anything so having power gets thier blood pumping twisted

It really shouldn't be a choice between helping Ukraine, helping asylum seekers and helping those on benefits. Raise tax on the top 100 earners by 2% and it can all be paid for.

So starmer spending 22 billion on eco carbon storage in Liverpool. Thought we had a supposed black hole for that amount. Billions going to help other countries climate change. And taking it from pensioners and I dread we be next

Very disheartening to see that instead of bringing in a wealth tax and applying modest taxation of the super rich, labour have instead chosen to go down the route of squeezing money from the most vulnerable in society.

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/oct/05/labour-mp-torsten-bell-defends-chancellor-refusal-to-bring-in-wealth-tax

Starmer said in August that in regards to the UK's financial situation : ''Those with the broadest shoulders should bear the heavier burden..''

It now seems that his idea of those 'with the broadest shoulders' are not the super rich, but are instead the longterm sick, disabled and pensioners.

    Whatta' joke.

And while they've stopped the winter fuel payments for some pensioners and it seems that they're going to target the long term sick, disabled and mentally ill, next, they're also trying to bring in assisted dying. Coincidence?

If the assisted dying goes through and they do target us to the extent that I wont be able to cope, at least I'll have an easy escape.

Televised from 2.30 pm this afternoon At the end of this post, you'll find a link to today’s discussion schedule, where you can see all the MPs questions that will be raised. I’ve highlighted eleven questions below that I believe may interest some of our members, primarily focused on helping people get back into work. While there don't seem to be any questions specifically about the proposed PIP changes, this topic could still be addressed in the context of supporting people in returning to work.
What recent assessment she has made of trends in the number of young people not in education, employment or training.

Questions that are listed to be raised.

What steps she is taking to support vulnerable people into work.
What assessment she has made of the adequacy of the accessibility of Jobcentres to people living in rural areas.
What recent assessment her Department has made of the effectiveness of Jobcentre Plus in helping people get back into work.
What guidance her Department has issued to private contractors working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus on reimbursing claimants' travel costs.
What steps she is taking to tackle Carer's Allowance overpayments.
What assessment she has made of trends in the number of benefit sanctions in the last five years.
What recent assessment she has made of trends in the number of young people not in education, employment or training.
What recent assessment she has made of trends in the level of economic inactivity in Teesside.
What recent discussions she has had with (a) mayors and (b) local councils on supporting people back into work.

Catherine, I completely understand if you do not feel comfortable watching. Everyone has different levels of interest and comfort with these topics, and I want to emphasise that I never meant to upset anyone. As a disabled forum, we represent a broad range of perspectives, and I thought some members might find the questions being raised intriguing.

Listening to the debates and statements first hand often provides a clearer understanding of the context and nuances involved. It also allows listeners to form their own opinions based on the actual dialogue rather than relying on interpretations, summaries, and endless speculation about what was meant. I truly did not mean to make anyone feel scared with this information, so I apologise if it came across that way. I believe many of our members will find it interesting.
