    You obviously didn't hear Robert Jenrick's speech about benefits yesterday then. He attacked the disabled in the most despicable way any politician has so far. His plans for us are chilling. Barry Gardiner's response was magnificent. (Politics Live, bbc2, 11.15 am yesterday)

    Yes, Stellar. Most people still aren't listening or reading the evidence. Some people here think Stephen Timms is a very nice man 🤣

    Labour has just published the DWP reports written in 2014 which the Tories sat on in order to roll out the second national reassessment programme. Has anybody had a look since they were mentioned in another thread recently?

    Job centres have used Disability Employment Advisors (DEA's) for years. I know this because I was first referred to one in 2008.

    They have harassed, bullied, abused me and acted unlawfully in my case since 2006. None of this is new. People simply didn't pay attention to what was legislated for by the Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016 which ensured it would get even worse for disabled claimants.

    So they have no skills or empathy which would help anyone in a mental health hospital. Patients are already offered and encouraged to engage in occupational therapy but this idea of turning us all into 'disabled job-seekers' was written into the UC Programme.

    following on from this we think it's a bad idea for work coaches to be in mental hospitals. However this could be on the discharge pathways when they are getting discharged depending on condition and must be person centred.

    Back in the day when I use to sign on, they were responsible for helping the disabled get into work and all disabled claimants were under them and they had more sympathy than the generic work coaches we are all thrust upon these days. Yes, they too were nasty bullies but not of the scale of the present day work coaches.

    Yes, even after all my years challenging mandatory appointments and repeat referrals to Work Programme (3!), this new generation shocked me.

    Catherine, only if enough other people scrutinise the (disastrous) Incapacity Benefit migration to ESA and the 2016 reforms will we understand what's happening through UC migration.

    Their logic is to help those claimants suffering at home by "inviting" them into the job centre and making referrals for even more support! If you're agoraphobic, this is their answer 😐️

    I remember seeing her in parliament one time (i think it was when Reeves announced winter fuel cut), and the expression on her face was just...off. I can't explain it, but I just found her really unsettling. And it seems like I had good reason to.

    @WhatThe I had a nicely lady disability employment advisor and she was really nice as she asked me what I preferred to be called and I'd told her and she'd started calling me by my preferred name. She explained everything to me so that I could understand what she was saying.

    That was my experience at my first appointment in 2008, exactly as you describe. She explained it was voluntary and support was available when I was in a better state of health.

    Let's really hope it is voluntary, maybe the work coaches will only be visiting people who are getting better and are close to leaving the hospital and if that person has consented to it.

    If not and there are sanctions, what hope do people like myself with mental health issues (severe anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts) have who are on LCWRA and not hospitalised?

    I read that Labour are "following through" with Tory plans to change the Work Capability Assessments, that the figures of 3 billion or 1.5 billion according to the Financial Times are "baked into" Treasure statistics/plans.

    Liz Kendall will be tasked to change the WCA rather than continuing Mel Stride's changes.

    Then if I remember current claimants of LCWRA won't be affected unless their circumstances change.

    Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
