not if deemed unlawful by the courts everyone has to abide the law even the government

Yes,there'there's a lot riding on this court case. If the DWP are found to be in brbreaking the law, they'll have to go back to the drawing board.
My concern is that if you are in LCWRA and move into a supported living flat, you would be claiming housing benefit for rent. Does this mean you'd be kicked of LCWRA?
0 -
That was always the plan, to cut benefit.
1 -
I wouldn't think so it would simply change the rent element of uc. Lcwra is about your capacity to work.
1 -
I hope she wins that court case, it will be the funniest thing I have seen in ages.
1 -
she most likely will lol

Yeah bye bye Tories in July and Labour cornered in December .hahahahhahahah

No. LCWRA has nothing to do with help with your rent, whether that's through UC or housing benefit.
0 -
If you are liable for paying Council Tax, then LCWRA status may help with getting 'Council Tax Reduction' but again that is not a UC benefit - it is given by your local authority. You would have to check with them.

Making changes to WCA may not be unlawfu though l it depends on how they market it. If it isn't unlawful then it will go through the usual process.
House of Commons
House of Lords (which can't actually stop any legislation can o ly hold it up for up to a year unless it's exceptional circumstances)
Then royal assent.
If it passes House of Commons it's more a less a done deal.
If MPs don't follow the party they gwt whip removed.

It's easy to find out Liz Kendall has basically written word for word what she is planning to do up there on the Government site.
For any futher clarity it will be in her white paper.

There is only one real protection that's United Nations Convention on person's with disabilities rights which is enjoyed in other countries where the governments care about inclusion and citizens rights anything less than that means those with disabilities are treated as second class citizens

They didn't listen to the un conversation in Geneva
0 -
So is she going with what tories proposed ? I cant read it if she is then it's already set up

Catherine21
She has said its her dream job and she wants to turn the department from a department for welfare into a department of work.
That basically sums up her approach but will have to see what the white paper says for details which isn't out yet . Sir Stephen timms has been vague on WCA hinting they will take their own approach which doesn't confirm or deny anything.
