Lcwra - when will I receive my first payment?

29th to 28th of every month is your assessment period dates. Your waiting period will be as follows..
May/June, June/July, July/Aug.. LCWRA starts from 29th Aug to 28th Sept and first payment will be 5th October. This means up to now they owe you 1 months LCWRA element.
My advice assumes you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim.
Please also note, if your UC also includes Transitional Protection then this will erode with the additional LCWRA element so whether you're better off will depend on how much Transitional Protection is included.

Yes, it’s a single Universal Credit claim.
Thank you so much for both of your answers xx

What dates are your assessment periods?

hi, I was wondering if someone can advise as I’ve put a message in my journal 2 weeks ago and still not had a reply. My AP is 15th to 14th, i was told I was found to have lcwra on 17th June. I was told that I would not see this on my UC payments until 3 full AP, which would make it my December payment? However, I read somewhere that you are entitled to lcwra money from the 13th or 14th week after being found to have lcwra. Could anyone shed some light as to if I am entitled to any back payment and how it all works because I’m really confused and not having much help from UC. I hope this makes sense.
First fit note provided on 20th June
No gaps in fit notes provided
Assessment period 15th - 14th
Payment date 21st
Thank you so much x

Just incase others see this, your question was answered here.

You are entitled to it 2 assessment periods after your first fit note. Not from when you got you got awarded lcwra x

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with this, as it is after three full assessment periods, so payment is usually made after the fourth. You are correct, however, that the calculation is based on the first fit note rather than when a person was awarded LCWRA.

My apologies-that was a typo, should have said 3(fat fingers🤦🏽♀️)-but the point i was intending was the relevant period starts from the date you hand in your first fit note, rather than from when you get your descision
And as UC is paid in arrears the payment,in the case you hand in youtlr fit note, filling the uc50 and have your assessment all within the 3 months relevant period, payment will be the 4th assessment period, but it was the date it was payable from I was trying to clarify because some people don't have their assessments until way after the relevant period has passed in which case the actual date you get start getting paid is more difficult to predict
But thank you for spotting the typo, it could have caused confusion for others 🙃

I submitted my first fit note on 30th August, which was issued on 22nd August. I've been awarded LCWRA on 5th November. My UC is being paid on 17th every month. When will I be paid and how much backpay will I get?

Your waiting period is Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec… LCWRA starts from assessment period 11th Dec to 10th Jan and first payment will be 17th Jan 2025. No LCWRA element is owed. This is because it's not paid at all during the waiting period.
This is assuming there were no gaps in your fit notes up until a decision was made.
If your UC includes Transitional Protection then the additional LCWRA element will erode that. How much it will erode will depend on how much your TP is. LCWRA element is £416.19/month.

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods, from the date the first Fit Note was handed in. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
August/September: Partial AP, excluded from waiting period.
September/October: AP 1
October/November: AP 2
November/December: AP 3
December/January: Eligible for LCWRA element.
17th January: First LCWRA element paid*
No money is owed in backpay.
*If you have Transitional Protection on the claim, it will reduce by the LCWRA amount.
*If you have Carers Element in your name on the claim, LCWRA will replace this as the same person cannot get both.
*If you have a partner on your claim who gets LCWRA, no money will be paid as within a couple the maximum number of LCWRA elements is 1.

But my first fit note was submitted on 30th August, so don't they owe me for period from 30th August to 10th September?

The waiting period is three full assessment periods.
Your August/September assessment period (when you handed in the Fit Note) isn't counted for the waiting period.

Thank you for your anwers.

No because that wasn't a full assessment period because you provided the fit note in the middle of it so it doesn't count. It's 3 FULL assessment periods.

Hi same confusion here
So 1st sick note 19th september...still no lwcra pay even with jan 7th statement is that correct?

There is a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to your payment.
In order to help we will need to know the following:
The date you reported health condition to UC.
The date you provided first Fit Note to UC.
Were there any gaps in providing Fit Notes to UC?
Your assessment period or payment date.
