I'm so sorry to hear that @eeL I totally get what you mean, it does feel like we're square pegs in a world designed for round holes. But we shouldn't let our past experiences cloud how we move forward in life, easier said than done I know. Life isn't easy for the neurodivergent, but we need to learn to work with others to make others see our struggles.

I do hope you reconsider leaving, as your insight if often very valuable for others.

Hey @eeL I've just seen your email. I think it'd be a real shame if you left, I know you mean a lot to many members of the community and I love our interactions. Maybe keep your account active? That way if you want to drop in to say hi, you'll be all set to go. 😊

please don’t leave @eeL yiu were speaking your truth and your words helped me so much. It was me that was mainly to blame for all the comments, I apologise for that.

This group has been a real eye opener for me , as I went through my whole life feeling like an alien as I have always never fit in nowhere. I am a very observant person so through my life I notice ppls mannerisms, behaviour and my interactions with them and I think of how I am etc and I see clearly from a very young age that I am completely different to them. So it’s nice knowing I am not alone in the world as I genuinely thought there was something really wrong with just me, so I am very grateful to be a part of this group, it’s helped me in so many ways.

Do any of you here have the trait where you get upset easily at all ? . Sorry if this is a wrong question .

I am really emotional, things hurt me deeply, I cry just if I see someone else crying. I feel like I am constantly trying so ridiculously hard to fit in that I end up exhausting myself, anytime I have social interactions with people afterwards I need time alone in the quiet coz I feel so drained

I feel like I don’t actually know how to be myself, it feels like I am always playing a role, whenever I am meeting with friends or family I am whatever person that friend needs me to be at that time, so I am very confused about who exactly I am as I am a different person for different situations or different ppl

That's a very common way to feel @Kali85 I put it down to having to mask for so long, it feels like you've lost who you really are? I've been practicing NOT masking around people, I'm just unapologetically me and I'm slowly working out who I am again.

You sound so much like me @Kali85 . I don't feel as alone by talking here. I empathise with you and my heart goes out to you . I am so very grateful for the conversations.

I play the role too @Kali85 . I just be what I think people expect me to be . @Albus_Scope your right it is masking and I've done alot of that throughout life . There's been odd occasions when I didn't mask and before I know it those people avoid me . Hope it was ok to pop this post here . My adhd is partly an interrupting problem. Please excuse me .

Sorry your chest is hurting @Andi66. Do you have blankets or a hot water bottle to help keep you warm?
