I can never make the whole way through these types of videos (I’m happier with the typed word and a highlighter) but I know some of you excel in watching and report back

Sound like the last opportunity for labour to try and differ themselves from the tories before the publishing of the disability green paper

This starts from 9am on the 12th February (this coming Wednesday)

    https://committees.parliament.uk/committee/164/work-and-pensions-committee/news/205140/disabilities-minister-to-be-questioned-on-dwps-approach-to-vulnerable-claimants/

Of topic but does anyone else get the heebie-jeebies from Stephen timms? I’m probably being mean but there’s something about the guy that unnerves me

I’m ashamed to admit about 20 years ago I felt like I was being verbally attacked into a corner, not allowed to escape and something in me snapped and I totally lost control and caused harm to that person physically. The thing is I’m generally a gentle individual that avoids conflict but the lack of control in my life (which the dwp dictates - as the money they provide and their rules are kind of like invisible chains) and it’s that lack of control that fills me with rage and I feel I have to shut myself away in my home from society and even my family to keep them safe as I never want to push so far to lash out physically ever again

And yes I do lash out verbally (constant masking and biting tongue when I’m around others is exhausting but I know it’s best to bottle things up and keep the peace - society tolerance of higher functioning isn’t high I’ve noticed…….people don’t like it when you ask questions and dare have a differing viewpoint) - I think the older I get the less patience I have and the more frustrated i get

I know it will never happen but prehaps the labour government should do some trials of minimum basic income in an area - take away the stress of the dwp controlling your whole life and you may actually get a few disabled that feel like they could give part time work a try

No more daft then many of the ideas labour and Tory ministers have come up with the past year…….surely there’s an mp out there with some common sense (probably why farage is so popular……..though he doesn’t have much common sense either and is manipulating supporters almost into a ‘cult’ following, not unlike trump and the maga movement - global politics need new blood from non politically trained individual who isn’t and multi millionaire imo)

Someone needs to tell labour that real life should not be dystopian fiction

Looks like a way to get around it is to turn off your iCloud or stop automatic uploads of chat backups etc….

I originally posted because the CAB person who did my benefits told me that when I migrate to UC I will lose £400, then I saw in this article that there was talk of a reduction of £400 so I linked it here, now this has turned into a discussion of everything under the sun and I keep getting pinged with new comments, please could you tell me how to turn them off, 14 pages of unrelated comments, each time I get an email.

Labour officials wanting access to Iphone users comes from the Online Safety Bill, a piece of legislation the Tories pushed through which has been criticized for not being not strong enough to being a piece of legislation which breaks privacy laws and is censorious.

Sorry for the off topic post.

I'm all for access to Iphone users, provided that it is across the board, all civil servants and politicians need to provide access to their Iphones too, that will never happen so point is moot. (sarcasm)

I also fully support the use of vouchers, provided that all politicians and civil servants get paid in vouchers too…

this is the very reason I won't put a PIP claim in. How crazy a system that gives you a fear to not apply for what you are entitled.

Ironically it was the Tory talk of only paying extra money under UC to those getting PIP, that pushed me into trying. I'd moved two years before into an accessible home, and thought what the heck now is my best chance.

In June I was awarded Enhanced for both, 6 years from a paper based assessment. The money has improved my life so much.

I probably wouldn't actually do a Reform Vot

I probably wouldn't do a reform vote but it is how angry they are making me feel to even think it. I voted them in because I thought I would get a small peace of mind but the mind bashing games continue I really didn't expect them too. The state of my mind gets a little bit worse everyday and has been for easily 18 ish months now.

A family member of mind say similar to you that as the next GE comes along they will probably start giving thing away left right and centre.

Well they can start with the bedroom tax and some !!
