They are indeed. Glad to hear you're not too bad. Thank you for that information. This means his waiting period for the extra money will be as follows..

Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov.. LCWRA element starts from 5th Dec to 4th January and first payment will be 11th January. This means up to now they owe him 1 months LCWRA element.

Money owed will be paid as a separate payment and can often take quite a few weeks to pay it. Once that statement is recalculated a letter will be uploaded onto his journal and the money will be paid into his bank.

Please make sure you check his next statement to see if the LCWRA element is included for next month. If the decision has only recently been made they may not be enough of time to include it. Which would mean 2 months LCWRA element would be owed.

    Hi Poppy,

    I hope you are well.
My son received this on his UC Journal, in the bank there is a payment of £832.38 today, so going forward from now will it be the UC payment plus the LCWRA going into his account on the normal date 11th ? No more money owed?
    Thank you in advance.

That’s correct as I see there was an error in my calculation above. LCWRA starts from assessment period 5th Nov to 4th Dec and first payment was 11th Dec and not 11th Jan as I advised. It was because I missed a month out with my calculations.

Yes that will be what he will receive each month. No further money is owed.

    Hi all

I received a message from UC on our journal about being on carers allowance and we now get more money but we already get money for carers allowance from beginning of claim so unsure why the amount we get has gone up by £300 I’ve left a message on our journal as we don’t want to be owing money back in future for any mistakes they’ve made.
Has anyone else had this message?
    Thank you.

Have you compared a payment statement with the increase to an old one, to try and spot the difference(s)?

The UC deduction for Carers Allowance is £353.17, perhaps they've made an error and not made the deduction?

    Hi

They’ve shown the deduction and there’s no differences, I’ll wait to see what they say, thanks for your reply

They hadn’t deducted my £354.90 only my husbands carers (£354.90) they deducted.
    I’m so glad I checked.

If our payment is due on the 11th March will they have amended their mistake by then and only pay our normal amount? not the extra thank you.

I'm not sure, if you are overpaid a letter will be added to your Journal, confirming the amount owed and repayment instructions.

Ok so hopefully now I’ve notified them of their mistake that will help? Do I need to contact them any other way apart from on our journal?

    Hi all

    Hope you are well.

Our UC transitional protection payment has gone down, they say it’s because our UC entitlement has increased but it’s no different to when we first applied last year.
I’ve asked on journal but obviously bank holiday. We also had a notification to say both my husband and I are both on another benefit that can affect our UC but they know that & have been deducting that since our first claim last year!?
we had same msg a month or so ago about me being on carers & they’d made mistake & hadn’t deducted it but this time they have deducted both of our carers as normal, so I’m not sure why they have put it on our journal.
    Maybe just normal ?

They are automated messages which you will get every so often. No action is needed on your part if nothing has changed with the other benefits.

How much has your Transitional Protection been reduced?

Statements including the annual uprating should be going out around now (first full AP after the increase on 7th April)

If you compare a statement from last year to your most recent, can you see any differences?

Could it be because our rent went up? Only difference is rent went up

Yes it will be because your Housing Element has increased, also I just edited my post to add the first statements to include the annual uprating should be going out around now (first full AP after the increase on 7th April)
