No but regardless I have no idea who this Marcus bloke is hence why I asked is he a Liebour MP?
I have never heard of him.

Sorry to be vague but I have been out today and I seem to have missed a few things.
Who is Noah?
Does anyone have a link to the video please?

I think it’s easy to take newspapers with a bit of caution but when it was itv news it seems more truthful, especially as if it’s false leak or just taken out of context labour hasn’t come out and clarified anything. Their own backbenchers are worried which must mean they’re not privy to and information themselves. Though I agree Noah seems to know what he’s talking about as opposed to some YouTubers who are good at giving the information but maybe not reading between the lines.

Just googled the name he is a roman emperor

I hadn’t heard of any of the 36 who wrote the letter of support for Starmer . So no I haven’t heard of him either. Seems like someone trying to make a name for himself like the 36 who wrote that letter of support.

He has a YouTube channel called Noah bear Nyle . The other is A different bias. Both have a more positive view on the situation. Worth a watch . Was recommended by snuggles earlier and are interesting. Obviously no one knows anything for sure yet though .

I don't think he's in Government. Just a troll.
I don't think any politician would write BS in a tweet.

No problems, here is the link, hope it works okay.

Ok this is a question somebody may be able to answer?
Lets say they do cut LWRCA payment (I wont ramble on about how I think about how immoral etc that would be) does the previous transitional protection (TP) from moving over from legacy benefits to UC not kick back as you would be worse off on UC than you were on Legacy? If so this surely should boost whatever LCWRA cuts are made back up to more or less the same amount?
Is there no law or such that states that when switched you were not to be worse off on UC which these cuts would now cause?
I hope this makes sense?1 -
As the law stands TP only ever reduces. TP is added to a UC award so at the time of transfer you aren't worse off than on legacy benefits.
New laws would need to be introduced to raise TP again if a previously awarded element (which itself reduced TP) ceased.
2 -
Just to add an example of what I mean this was our award figures:-
*Transitional protection£390.37
You get this because of other benefits you were on before you moved to Universal Credit. The payment will continue until you have a significant change of circumstances.*
*****Then added to the LCWRA group and awarded LCWRA payment*****
*Limited capability for work and work-related activity
£416.19
You said your health affects you at work or prevents you from working*
*********
The LCWRA payment is more than TP which now means you no longer need the TP uplift as you are no longer worse of on UC than you were on Legacy?
So if they cut LCWRA by 20% about £104 that would mean LWRCA figure is now about £312 not £416 which is now £78 lower than what the TP payment of £390 meaning the switch from legacy to UC has now made us worse off by £78!
Oh and this is based on 20% so if its 40% it would £156 worse off or 50% it would be £195!
Point being they would now be going against the TP payment uplift which was added to stop people from being worse off switching from legacy.
Again I hope this makes sense?1 -
Not sure if this has already been posted on the thread. There's no paywall on this and you don't need to register any details to read it.

I’m not sure individuals can contact them ………. I read somewhere it had to be done via an organisation, but I could be wrong
Edit:
I’ve posted some relevant links below
I wonder if a scope member wrote a letter then got as many signaturees as possible if that would be okay (I’m not thinking a petition form……or perhaps I am )

On X from politics uk, apparently started a leak investigation. Not sure of the source is like but they got a blue tick,

I don’t know for certain but I think they are made up of some of the new labour mps made up of starmer loyalists (well ‘labour together’ supporters - Morgan mcsweeney probably picked most of them) who then got carted into safe seats for the 2024 ge
It’s a very unusable move setting up a mp group aimed to support the gov (especially as I doubt they’ve had a chance to read the contents of the green paper this early in advance………..at least ‘normal’ backbenchers wouldn’t of had that type of access.
I don’t think the original friday itv leak was planned by starmer or Kendall (as I don’t think the green paper was due to drop till week of the 18th earliest), and I don’t think they expected it to be such a big news publically with more backlash then expected.
Ever since they’ve been trying to change the narrative amongst labour mps and the public (the official new line being that it’s not fair that some disabled don’t work but get extra money) - I personally think one of starmer’s advisers ‘encouraged’ this gov support group as another way to control narrative and try and portray the majority of labour mps as United (and doing the opposite of rebelling)
usually welfare cuts due for imminent announcements are usually a bit buried (don’t remember any of the sunak/hunt/stride suggested cuts making the front page)Someone with a better memory will remember precidents better but this may be the largest welfare story to totally blow up in this way
It really seems disability welfare reform for starmers Labour Party holds the same high stakes as the Rwanda scheme for sunaks Tory party

One fear that did pop up is labour adding to any legislation that only top of leak rumors of lcwra awards being cut, that TP could be dropped
however I think the court case that told the dwp to uphold and honour to was pretty recent and would the gov challenge that decision via a law change so soon
My head is going to really dystopian places but would any of us have even considered the content in the itv leaks from last Friday?
It’s all a bit silly season right now, common sense seems to have left the dwp offices and this point even the insane may not be off the table

Ive read many articals, please no changes are certain but if its a freeze, only means its froaen for now, just hope they dont change the system by means testing or somthing worse or the same.
The admin on here seem to be hot on the point so may be able to help. Read the lower rate may be scrapped, but all with long term illness will go on the higher rate, but they may put another benefit for those affected, iam worried sick with you all.
Those who voted this lot in were promise change for the better, they are not fit to govern,
Trumps puppets,

"There are also expected to be smaller cuts including raising the basic rate of universal credit for those looking for – or in – work, while cutting it for those judged as unfit for work, as an incentive for some disabled people to seek employment."
Source:
So now its clear, when we talked about that article the other day, it is indeed the Basic rate that will be reduced (cut), or at least they consider doing that.
