@rubin16
Sorry to hear you felt rough yesterday, I don't think you need to apologise for that
I didn't know what Cleveleys was, sounds like a department store, I looked it up and it's a seaside town apparently. Looks really nice. Did you like it??? Was it fun enough that it was worth paying for in pain afterwards?!
Sounds like you really appreciate where you live and your landlord is very lucky to have you as a tenant!! I find landlords get a bad name but loads of tenants are actually really disrespectful. Many landlords would give their right arm to have you as a tenant ... it's a shame there isn't some kind of discount for looking after the property because the landlords I know would gladly lose like £100 a month in rent to guarantee that their property is taken good care of!!!!

Blackpool is far too busy and noisy so prefer to goto quiet areas. It was really nice and had a really fun time so yeah it was worth not feeling right yesterday haha.Thanks yeah took me ages to find a suitable place for me to live, and I'm so lucky to finally have my own home so each month with little bits of money I have left I buy something new for my flat and slowly decorate it. Its looking really nice so far and really love where I live. I am so thankful for it.3 -
Morning all
@Ada please do take the GP seriously. It sounds like you have a GP who does care about your health if they're saying they are very concerned about you. Please call 111 or even 999 if anything they said to look out for happens.
@Beaver79 my partners old family dog would eat stones, especially as a puppy, they'd have to carry her around like how you try to burp a baby to help the stones pass.
@rubin16 I always find inspections stressful, best of luck! And no need to apologise about lack of activity here, we all have our up days and our down days. Sometimes we just don't feel like talking and that is okay. Just know that when you do want to talk the community is always going to be here.
Now, I'm not gonna say anything about landlords as with my past experiences of landlords it's hard to not be rude about them.2 -

I guess everyone is a product of their experiences and forms their own prejudices based on that!!
I think when you've worked hard to buy a second home, let them stay free of charge for a few weeks when they are struggling so they don't stress over Christmas, and they thank you by doing a runner but before leaving completely vandalise the property causing over £10,000 in damage, it's hard to view tenants in a positive light as well1 -
Ada said:So no wonder I would never fly
podcast facts. Say over 50% off pilots admit to falling asleep mid flight and said often when they woke they saw that the co pilot was also asleep
Did it state the length of the flight? I can kind of understand coordinating so one of the pilots is asleep but both falling asleep is pretty bad0 -
Hey everyone I hope yous have a lovely afternoon. I’m just going to go a walk up to my mums hopefully the walk will help me sleep better tonight.
@Ada
Glad you can sit in the garden today. My granddaughters are away.
I have them tomorrow for a couple off hours then one off them is staying over on Saturday, I will sleep after that surly lol@rubin16
Glad you had a lovely day yesterday and so pleased you love the house your in, you have worked hard doing your house up so it’ll be a pleasure for you to sit back and enjoy it. Sorry you don’t feel 100% just take things slowly.
@Beaver79
Oh that’s good your dog didn’t need to have his teeth out I hope the antibiotics work quickly.

I do agree with you @Ada you go above and beyond for your landlords even looking after their dogs, you'd think they would return the help in some way rather than just increasing rent??
I do totally get that lots of landlords are just in it for the money, I just don't agree when people apply the fallacy that is "guilt by association" and tar everyone with the same brush - I know a few instances of bad tenants but would never assume all tenants are bad!
In fairness all of the landlords I know are just small-time landlords with 1 or 2 properties which is their pension, they bought a 2nd house instead of paying into a pension and now they need the rent to live on as they don't have a pension...A super rich landlord who just wants more and more money to go jetting off on holiday I think I'd have less sympathy for!!
I really hope you don't give up on the dream of living by the sea again, I feel sad for you having to stay somewhere where you are not happy. I think everyone should be able to be somewhere that makes them happy, I don't think that's a lot to ask, it's not like you are asking for a mansion or something1 -
I'm just back had a nice few hours out, fish n chips in the park and a bit of shopping.
Shattered now tho3 -
Coor, fish and chips in the park sounds magical right about now, I'm very jealous! Maybe a cheeky Mr Whippy too.1
-
It was nice @Albus_Scope but the sun is very strong today2
-
Jenson just had a treat because it’s warm … someone finished off a tub of ice cream so he got to lick the tub out
5 -
It has been very toasty today @Sandy_123 it's turning into the kind of weather that baldies like me need to be very careful of. Lots of sunscreen!1
-
Yes albus or a sunhat
Looks like he's enjoying his treat @66Mustang3 -
@Beaver79 hope your doggy picks up soon.
@Sandy_123 that sounds like a lovely afternoon
@Lou67 you are doing so well walking and looking after your grandkids
@Ada that is a huge rent increase! Especially when you so good doggy sitting so much even if you enjoy it. Take it easy the rest of today
Hi everyone else and admins.
We got phoned this afternoon by neurology nurse to say they are admitting my partner this Tuesday (14th) and operating on 15th May if there is a bed available. I'm glad and hope there is a bed. I'm nervous too truth be told.4 -
Fingers crossed @Marydoll5, hope it all goes okay!2

I'm feeling low again today
I keep getting negative reactions or outcomes and stuff and it feels like I'm just failing at everything or the world is against me if anyone can relate???
A good example is I made a forum thread asking for help and it has like 50 views and 1 person replied, so in my mind 2% of the population think I'm worthy of sparing 5 mins to make feel better (the fact I'm only worth 1/50th is probably about accurate ) ... I know that's a stupid conclusion but my mind seems to be working in a twisted way at the moment
I think I'm really delicate since I stopped drinking. I think I maybe always used to be delicate but I didn't care before because the alcohol made me feel better if that makes sense???
I hope someone can maybe relate1 -
No don't be sorry at all @Ada it's totally a problem in my mind and not something others have done
Besides, what I meant was like 50 people had read my post but 49 of them decided it wasn't worth trying to help, if you didn't get a chance to read it you are not one of those 49
I just think I'm failing at everything and when you just need a few words it seems hard to find support
I know there are lovely people here including you and I'm truly in a better place for being on Scope and your support and friendship means so much to me
I'm going off for a bit though as not feeling too good and going to try and do something to relax like play a computer game or go for a walk
I will come back in a bit or maybe tomorrow but I hope you have a great evening @ada and all others1
