Yes, this has been the case throughout my life. As a child, I was often labelled as a 'fussy' eater, but as an adult, I am still considered 'fussy' and also experience a number of gastrointestinal issues.

I have to avoid things that have probiotics and stuff, I also do better with vegetables, a lot of fruits my body just doesn't really like that much. The ones it doesn't mind, I don't like, so that's interesting! I'm good with most veg though. And I cut out things with artificial colours and flavours though they're less common now which I think has helped me. I know they debunked some of the links between those and hyperactive behaviour but I actually did have that reaction as a kid to some of them.

I was a much pickier eater as a kid, and I was taken to the doctor when I was eight or nine and tested for diabetes for some reason as well…I don't have that. But I have always eaten relatively normally overall. I did have a doctor get quite unpleasant with me about my low BMI when I was in my twenties…I hovered around eight stone for a long time, even though I was eating normally.

My BMI is totally normal now, I just wasn't able to put on weight when I was younger. Even now I don't really put on that much, I've just, thankfully, got to a point where doctors no longer make sniffy remarks and blame my weight for any joint issues or nerve issues I have…

The big issues are the stress triggers we all seem to deal with, which impacts all kinds of functions (fight or flight). And these are inconvenient since they can be caused by very small things that other people don't perceive and thus it can be hard to explain…

Bit jealous of the sun @Bluebell21 it's grim down here and we'd lost a fence panel over the weekend, so waiting for nicer weather to fix it.

The dogs are enjoying having a second garden though. 😆

Most people have doubts about themselves but ours are extreme and crippling. They are easily reinforced by other people whether intentionally or not. Confidence can be there one minute and not the next…that's hard to cope with.

With me it started at primary school having Autism and dyslexia and obviously then it wasn't known. Then with school and being put down by exs etc it stays a lot with you.
