Thank you @Nightcity. I'm exactly the same. I did read that autism is connected to this issue. I'm very similar to yourself. I'm having a bit of an issue at the moment. Thanks again for your feedback ๐.

I have always had a pretty sensitive gut although it's better now than it was when I was a kid. My mother blamed a bad bout of gasterenteritis I had as a small child but now she thinks that might have also been connected. There doesn't seem to be any medical research into this, however. Unfortunately there's way more research money still in social behaviour aspects and normalisation rather than all the various medical questions that keep cropping up around autism and the spectrum in general :/ Maybe one day.

Yes I cant remember what this article said but The stomach and brain are connected and many people with autism have stomach issues I'm on a ten day detox it's from Holland and barrett so completely safe day 3 I feel wiped out when relized was actual feaces in our water started reading about metals toxins and parasites in our body and how other cultures do this often sorry I always go off topic when under extreme pressure I can imagine your stomach would be worse does any foods trigger it because I know when I'm stressed it starts in my stomach that big flip of the stomach then I go full into panic attack I believe alot comes from our stomach I had pmdd god my stomach cramps ruined me every two weeks so it's not pleasant x

Yes I've had stomach issues all my life, so I did that knowing nod when I read about ASD often having stomach problems. ๐

Hi Strawbs, there does seem to be a link between autism and the alimentary canal - the largest internal organ we have. An important organ then!
I was random vomiting aged 4 then survived a ruptured appendix and two emergency surgeries aged 9. I've never been right in that department but a low FODMAP diet has massively improved my wellbeing and mobility.
I was bulimic in my teens and twenties. Eating disorders and digestive disorders are common in ASD it would seem.
