You can still respond to it . And more than once

How can you score 4 points for one descriptor and qualify for PIP with a total of only 4. And score a total of 20 and not qualify for PIP because you don't have 4 points in one descriptor. Its worse than it is currently. It doesn't make sense to me at all.

you need a total of 8 points but at least of one the activities has to have 4 points

I asked ChatGPT if the LCWRA reassessments have already started and it said this:
The exact date for the resumption of these reassessments has not been announced yet.
Now since it's ChatGPT it could be wrong, but, it does seem to get things right more often than not, so what it has said has helped ease my anxiety a bit. Hopefully it'll be a long while before they restart.

I think they’ll change the questions so hardly anyone will be awarded points . Right now it’s the 4 points but in the future I think it will be harder to get that 4 points . So with few ppl on pip and lcwra gone there’ll be practically no support at all . I hope I’m wrong but this government will continue until they’re stopped

Iam on PIP and OLD STYLE ESA (CONTRIBUTION BASED) since around 2012.
It looks like the esa is being lumped into one and then we would need to apply for UC. But as a household I wouldn't then get any money from UC. I have a partner but that doesn't mean he can support me financially. What do people in this situation do?

Anyone with ESA contribution based, if that proposal goes ahead, seems to be that they will lose their entitlement eventually. As well as any NI contributions for their future pension.
So if you are on ESA contributions based I would reply to their green paper pointing that out/email your MP

"So a estimated 600,000 of us on LCWRA but not PIP will be dropped like a sack of hot potatoes and recieve no health element money and suddenly be expected to look for work despite being put into the previously unfit for work "support group".
This is a an excellent remark that I'll mention in their damn consultation.

It seems to be that is what they're wanting to do. However we need more clarification where it says for 'new people claiming' only? Hopefully we will get this in the coming days/weeks from the government.
53. Unemployment insurance would be a new non-means tested entitlement for people who have contributed into the system. It would be created by replacing contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) with a new single entitlement, paid at the current ESA rate (currently £138pw) and will be time-limited. This would provide stronger income protection during periods of unemployment for those with a recent work record, while revitalising the ‘something-for-something’ contributory principle in the working-age system. People claiming this would be expected to actively seek work, with easements for those with work-limiting health conditions.
54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC, depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA, by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC.

You can't be awarded PIP with only 4 points. A claimant needs to meet one 4 point descriptor and gain a further 4 or 8 points with other 4s or lower.
It is sad to think a total score of 20 will no longer result in an award because of the need to meet a 4 point descriptor.

Hi. Thanks for reply. I have replied to their paper. But I don't think that is going to matter as i think this was one of the things that was going ahead without consultation? My problem is I have my own bills etc to pay I am not supported by my partner. But they would take his salary into consideration which I see none of and I will then get no money. I'm sure there are many people like me. It would leave me with no options this .

When the Tories proposed to merge PIP and WCA, Labour were all furious and opposed, and now they want to legislate what they exactly were fiercely opposed to just a few months ago!

Yes. As time passes and the impacts become clearer we'll want to work through the consultation again. It's not something to be rushed. It takes careful thought. I'd advise people to make a clear case rather than angry or sarcastic comments.

Can I just say I wouldn't worry as you have an award that doesnt end for atleast 8 years and so much could have changed by then, Labour have said they wont reassess until the award time so there wont be mass reassessments when or if the new points system get put in place.

@sparrow77 This is what my partners said ^

I’m in NI & like many others, get 9 daily living points but only 3 in any one descriptor. I have an ongoing award due for a light touch review after 10 years ( in 2027 ). So it looks like that will now be a full review with the possibility of loosing daily living. I have realised though, that I haven’t updated PIP about 2 more conditions which I’ve been diagnosed with in the time since I had my rate awarded. They do impact the amount of care & support I need. So do I tell them ASAP & trigger a review or let it run til we see what makes it through to legislation?

Sadly far to many people cannot see the dangers that are in front of them until it hits them in the face!
What I mean is people will complain about people on sickness as theres a thought that people who are sick and ill and living the life of luxury so they want it stopped not realising that not only are most people who are sick not living lifes of luxury and there may also come a time when they need help and it wont be there for them which could leads to all sorts of financial difficulties!
Its not just this example its other such as having one bad policeman makes them all bad or one bad kid in a big family makes that family bad! Most of us will probably know people that think like that as there are far to many narrow minded blinkered people in the UK now!
IMO whats really happening more and more is literal class warfare between the mid to lower classes, call it conspiritorial if you like but if you open your eyes just a little more you may see divides not getting smaller but growing bigger as each generation goes by.3 -
The Society held an online meeting earlier.
There's only 340 members so its small but 310 have said they will never vote labour again.
Its somewhat ironic Ed Miliband has given an interview to the Guardian and the headline is talking about betrayal of the people by the Tories, The entire point Ed Labour was elected was partly to restore trust they have fallen into the same trap the libdems did in 2010. This is something they will not recover from and will cost them a 2nd term. There are so many seats out there with such tiny majorities as for the damage in Scotland.
Todays borrowing figures just confirm yet again why Reeves is just a bad chancellor.
Borrowing higher the expected the figures are going the wrong way, Its Austerity
sooner or later one of the offices that release the state of the economy are going to just call it out.
