Uplifting message .

I understand what MW123 is saying and no one would ever want you feeling unwell I understand it's frustrating you understand the deviousness and the way crept in back then and how for you it completes the puzzle but for myself there is noting that can be done now and we have to deal with the here and now don't make yourself ill I get very hyperfocused and it can be very draining

I see! Well my own experience is not very great. I was given an ongoing award of PIP last year, for the first time. It's important to me though that the DWP wait for the full ten years as I will be two years into state pension age so exempt from the new rules, if the proposals go through.
However, if they do pull me in before pension age at least I have two 4 point activities on my PIP DL.
The problem there is, with the way they are going, they may do a lot of "revising down" of the points, to make sure that they fail you then hope that you don't feel up to taking it to tribunal.
Sadly, I think that is something we are all going to have to face.
I decided to do some research myself anyway and the government says that if you have a severe, stable or deteriorating health condition and it is likely to be lifelong that under the new rules you will be likely to get an indefinite award instead of the ongoing one.
A lot of people who get an ongoing award, with a light touch review are approaching state pension age anyway.
My theory is that state pensioners who get PIP and those approaching that age are of less interest to the DWP as they are more concerned with younger adults and the middle aged claiments.
I would guess, as you probably do that there will be so many people losing their disability benefits, all at the same time that the DWP would have to prioritise them. Particularly as I'm sure that the appeal rate would rise to a level that's never been seen before.
That's all on top of the DWP not being able to recruit and train staff!! It's going to be chaos, with recording breaking wait times.
I can't imagine that they are going to want to be bothered with the disabled at pension age or those near it.
Just a theory though! That and we know just how unpredictable they are, forever moving the goalposts.

No 10 reviewing winter fuel payment cut after Labour slump in local elections!
Government fears further electoral losses from unpopular policy as well as from planned £5bn of benefits cuts!

the link doesn’t work. Does it say they’re looking into changing the reforms ?

wow that is early. Mines up next February and I haven’t had my review form yet . Don’t know if that’s good or bad . Recently reviews seemed to be paper based so I’m hoping this time I miss the dreaded assessment, though I doubt it . Have you asked them why so soon or taken advice from CAB as to whether it’s even legal ?

I recently spoke to UC about my migration over . I mentioned I’d heard they’re assessing everyone on lcwra before the changes come into effect. The girl said no they wouldn’t even have the staff to do it .

Let me also be clear, I feel that unfortunately @WhatThe felt antagonised by both mine & poppy123456's questioning on this forum as we didn't understand what they were going on about a couple of years ago; it was nothing to do with @MW123.
They made posts about substantial risk regs (29 & 35) which poppy knew about, & I looked into (as that's the way I try to learn), as we both wanted to help; I even asked Adrian to help, but they edited their posts several times, so that our replies then made no sense, & didn't answer Adrian's queries. None of us ever mentioned them 'scaremongering,' we were just at a loss as to what they meant. On another occasion they edited a post which made me out to be a liar, which was subsequently seen to be erroneous.
Reg 29 relates to Limited Capability for Work (LCW) & reg 35 relates to that of Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) if a claimant didn't meet the criteria for either, but would be at 'substantial risk' if not found to satisfy either. This could be a risk to themselves, or others. Neither poppy nor I were able to reasssure WhatThe that these important 'substantial risk' regs still exist:
I do try to look at both sides of things….I could be completely wrong, but perhaps WhatThe is saying, 'wake up & smell the coffee,' as these reforms have been a long time in the making. On the other hand I strongly believe that what's said in Private Messages should stay just that, 'private.'
Like @MW123 I spent hours trying to work out what I may have missed having made copious notes of WhatThe's comments in this thread, then reading about previous reforms, & still don't understand what 'secret' Kendall, Reeves & Timms are keeping.
It may all have been a very insidious way of 'reforming' benefits for those of working age, & WhatThe has a very understandable grievance about how they've been treated; the removal of extra money for those found LCW perhaps being one.
Now that is only the gist of what I've tried to understand about reforms, & may have erred.
I appreciate that @WhatThe may have difficulty in communicating, but I don't believe that being on the autistic spectrum stops you from telling the truth. I have always made every allowance for them, as they know, but there is no compromise in that you should always be truthful. I will therefore stand up for @MW123 & hope we can all move forward to understand what the current proposed reforms mean for us all.

it wouldn’t let me read it as I’m not a member of the guardian but I read it on DPAC and it said they’re coming back for more cuts .

Yes , I posted a link further up that said MP's warned the PM that he needs to re-think the benefits cuts because the votes for Reform were in protest of the cuts . Let's hope this is the turning point .

I am glad you were able to read it. @secretsquirrel1

I hope that’s the case but on DPAC they said they’re making more cuts with some MOs saying they should have cut back further to begin with. I thought how much more can they take ?
0 -
it’s not good is it ? How much more can they take away?

I think its arrogance , I hope it is flushed down the toilet .

aren’t they evil Sarah

I would hope and this is only my opinion that with the Local elections being so bad for Labour and them losing the bye election to Reform and only holding 3 of the 6 mayoral seats that they will perhaps have a re think before the Autumn budget.
