British Pediatric Neurology Association- Approaching Children's Tone Seminar

On Thursday 12 June and Friday 13 June, I attended a two-day Public Patient Involvement (PPI) called Approaching Children’s Tone.
It was hosted by the British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA). I was invited as a professional with lived experience of children presenting with tone concerns and to contribute to this course update. My perspective would help ensure that healthcare professionals better understand what matters most to patients and families when managing these complex presentations.
It was a full schedule on both days with my involvement in presentations and workshops. It was interesting to hear the lecturers discuss treating the child using a holistic approach rather than just focusing on the diagnosis. It was an opportunity to speak with medical professionals and share my lived experience of cerebral palsy.
This seminar was a worthwhile opportunity for all the participants. I left the course feeling I had increased my awareness and knowledge around these complex conditions.
