This is what we are all up against, misinformation or deliberate fake info. Not sure what the answer is to this.

News and newspapers are merely opinions of a group of billionaires desperate to influence public opinion and make more money don't read it unless it comes from the top

I would say most people who are in the ESA / lcwra group are not there because of substantial risk..... I also have just read that people on cbesa / LCWRA but no pip should not expect there circumstances to change until 2028 / 2029 when the WCA gets scrapped and pip takes over.... It stated that this won't start happening till earliest April 2028 and that will be a phased process and it will be new claims first , so existing claiments nearly certainly won't hear anything about the new pip assessment till earliest back end of 2029 ..... No way I'm worrying like I have been for that long , time to take a break and just concentrate on our next wca

Hi all. There's a lot of questions about where we now stand following the U-turn this week. Just wanted to advise that Scope is working to provide some detail around where we now stand etc. Hopefully we'll be able to share something with you soon.
Best wishes,

Hi @secretsquirrel1 - this has been added about 'severe conditions' in the Amendment Paper (UC & PIP Bill) today,
'applies to the claimant as a result of a fluctuating condition such as Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis' This can be seen on p8 :

Dear Holly, and others whose name I cannot remember - damaged memory
Thank you so much for
- listening to my and others concerns re the UC PIP Bill,
- working with DRUK, Disability Alliance and other disabled peoples' organisations
- - for taking on my suggestions, to keep keeping on writing to MPs, and the media, and for organising a mass lobby of Parliament - for growing, developing more self compassion, and compassion for others, and in many other ways.
- - a just cause struggle for equality allows us all to go beyond our limits, neurotic and otherwise, to be moved in more senses than one, to overcome fears, and find n3ew strengths and joys in adversity
- - for seeing and practicing all demons are diamonds,
- - and for so much more courage persistence and patience and love, solidarity,
- - for us all to see how we've developed through this struggle against cruel discrimination, brutal inhuman prejudices
- - for not ever giving up, we've won things, need to win back all our benefits and more help from govt if we want to work on our terms
- - its not over; we SHALL overcome.

Christ do we have to have the same massive screenshot(s) over and over again! π

BREAKING NEWS: Last night, the Government won a vote to cut benefits that will push hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled people into poverty.Β [1]
Make no mistake:Β the Government is trying to rush these changes through. Weβve only got ONE WEEKΒ until another crucial moment andΒ Keir Starmer will be hoping the public wonβt noticeΒ so he can get his cruel cuts through Parliament.
But MPs are already feeling the pressure, thatβs why last night saw the biggest rebellion of Keir Starmerβs time as leader so far. Theyβve seen our petitions, read our letters and heard our demands - meaning some are speaking out.
Nowβs the time to redouble our efforts, be bolder than ever and demand these cruel cuts are stopped, before itβs too late.Β [2]
Milan, will you sign the petition and add to the huge public backlash before these cruel cuts come back to Parliament next week?Β We only have seven days to show the Government what we - the public - expect from them:

Not everyone is great with technology @bellatango but we do not berate community members for joining in to offer support and reassurance. π

Please π

I get that albus, but the same thing doesn't need to be repeated over and over. Support and reassurance is what we all need in these really difficult times and there are lots of wonderful knowledgeable people on here at times, but a little consideratation for others works both ways.
It has certainly made me not want to read here as much and I'm sure you don't want to be driving people away either.

Thanks for the feedback @bellatango, it's always appreciated. We're working on something, don't worry. π
But in the meantime, if anyone needs to raise any issues, I'd say it's best to email us privately at community@scope.org.uk or DM @Community_Scope π

Thank you. Whatever improves the experience for ALL members is appreciated, so the fact you're working on something sounds good. For now I shall use the ignore feature, though that does fragment the discussion somewhat, so not ideal.
No offence intended to anyone, but it just needed saying and I think feedback is good. I will say no more on it now.
Thanks.

Just to update everyone, our lovely media team have updated the Scope blog with some easy to read information. If you're unsure what's going on, I recommend having a read. π

Getting so down about it all

Sorry to hear that @waylander9602 it's certainly a stressful time for many in the community. Is there anything we can do to help?

Hi chiaried,
Thank you for finding that , you really are kind in giving me help and hope π
Does that mean they will now look into fluctuating conditions not just constant conditions ? Or is part of the concessions theyβve made . I really hope Timms recommends we arenβt excluded . π€π

If we end up with Rayner whatβs she like in regards to the disabled do you know ?

What is your situation and what benefits do you receive ? ..... If your like me and it's cbesa / new style sea and lcwra , then we will be reassessed under the existing wca until it's abolishment in 2028 / 2029 .... That means the beginning of the tax year which will be April 2028 , and then it will be new claims first .... Benefits and work say for existing claimants it would be earliest back end of 2029 before we start to be assessed through the new pip criteria ( and that has had the 4 point rule scrapped ) so until Timms has done his review we won't know what the criteria even is , but at least it won't have the 4 point rule .... But it will be at least 4 and a half years before the changes would matter to us ( I say is because I'm sure you are in my situation in regards to the benefits you receive but don't claim pip ) apologies if I'm getting you mixed up with someone else .... I know passerby is in my position and a few others
