BREAKING NEWS: Last night, the Government won a vote to cut benefits that will push hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled people into poverty. [1]
Make no mistake: the Government is trying to rush these changes through. We’ve only got ONE WEEK until another crucial moment and Keir Starmer will be hoping the public won’t notice so he can get his cruel cuts through Parliament.
But MPs are already feeling the pressure, that’s why last night saw the biggest rebellion of Keir Starmer’s time as leader so far. They’ve seen our petitions, read our letters and heard our demands - meaning some are speaking out.
Now’s the time to redouble our efforts, be bolder than ever and demand these cruel cuts are stopped, before it’s too late. [2]
Milan, will you sign the petition and add to the huge public backlash before these cruel cuts come back to Parliament next week? We only have seven days to show the Government what we - the public - expect from them:

Not everyone is great with technology @bellatango but we do not berate community members for joining in to offer support and reassurance. 😊

Please 🙏

I get that albus, but the same thing doesn't need to be repeated over and over. Support and reassurance is what we all need in these really difficult times and there are lots of wonderful knowledgeable people on here at times, but a little consideratation for others works both ways.
It has certainly made me not want to read here as much and I'm sure you don't want to be driving people away either.

Thanks for the feedback @bellatango, it's always appreciated. We're working on something, don't worry. 😊
But in the meantime, if anyone needs to raise any issues, I'd say it's best to email us privately at community@scope.org.uk or DM @Community_Scope 😊

Thank you. Whatever improves the experience for ALL members is appreciated, so the fact you're working on something sounds good. For now I shall use the ignore feature, though that does fragment the discussion somewhat, so not ideal.
No offence intended to anyone, but it just needed saying and I think feedback is good. I will say no more on it now.
Thanks.

Maybe it's better with just links to website instead of huge screen shots.

Getting so down about it all

Sorry to hear that @waylander9602 it's certainly a stressful time for many in the community. Is there anything we can do to help?

Hi chiaried,
Thank you for finding that , you really are kind in giving me help and hope 🙏
Does that mean they will now look into fluctuating conditions not just constant conditions ? Or is part of the concessions they’ve made . I really hope Timms recommends we aren’t excluded . 🤞🙏

If we end up with Rayner what’s she like in regards to the disabled do you know ?

What is your situation and what benefits do you receive ? ..... If your like me and it's cbesa / new style sea and lcwra , then we will be reassessed under the existing wca until it's abolishment in 2028 / 2029 .... That means the beginning of the tax year which will be April 2028 , and then it will be new claims first .... Benefits and work say for existing claimants it would be earliest back end of 2029 before we start to be assessed through the new pip criteria ( and that has had the 4 point rule scrapped ) so until Timms has done his review we won't know what the criteria even is , but at least it won't have the 4 point rule .... But it will be at least 4 and a half years before the changes would matter to us ( I say is because I'm sure you are in my situation in regards to the benefits you receive but don't claim pip ) apologies if I'm getting you mixed up with someone else .... I know passerby is in my position and a few others

Hi @secretsquirrel1 - I just thought to check to see what was on the parliament website, & saw the Gov't has today deposited their amendments to the Bill. On looking through when I saw that this amendment now includes 'fluctuating conditions' as one of the accepted criteria for 'severe conditions' I thought you'd like to know. So some good came of the debate before voting on the 2nd reading of this Bill as this was mentioned then as I mentioned!
Unfortunately they haven't changed their use of the word 'constantly,' but accepting some claimants with fluctuating conditions could satisfy the 'severe conditions' clause somewhat negates that, so it's a good (& fair) amendment.

It’s certainly good news as so many conditions fluctuate. I’m up and down every day but for those who have times of remission it’s just as important as having less stress and having a sense of security can help a person to have fewer set backs . Thanks so much for thinking of me and others of course .

Thank you Catherine . I hope I’m kind but I can’t be towards those that are not kind back . I’ve never received one email back from here . I’ve emailed and said read the comments people are terrified. She and the others don’t care about us . She’s all smiles today and yes maybe putting on a brave face . But she’s not going to be homeless or hungry is she ?
And you are a strong person Catherine, you’ve really worked hard emailing everyone. And you get results and respect too . They always reply to you . Me not so much 😂

Hi Catherine, I’m fine thanks how are you? I emailed my mp as she was originally opposing but I saw a list on Facebook and she was an aye with the late concessions but she’s not replying

Christied said they’ve made changes such as fluctuating conditions for severe criteria. I’m trying to de stress if I can as I think they’ve seen they can’t just do what they like . It’s been over a year of this now. I’m trying not to add another year to this now .
How are you Catherine ? I hope you’re resting and trying to do something fun like watch a good horror movie. You’ll burn yourself out if you don’t ❤️
