Most assessments are by telephone. If an assessment is needed and its face to face you can change it to telephone.

What ever happens it will not affect your PIP.

Hi poppy123456 thank you for your reply I've never been so nervous. Do they take into account that if someone had to work more hours it would damage their mental health futher?

HI I was looking for some advice please if possible. Are addvisirs from the job centre reviewing pip claims at the moment or do they play any part in the process please?

Your local job centre have nothing to do with PiP claims. Assessment providers have changed for PIP and some assessments and reviews are done by DWP but not the job centre.

Have you had the decision on your work capability assessment yet?

HI poppy thank you for getting back to me. No I haven't had a assessment yet but the reason for my question was because I've had no dealings with the job centre for years and today they have said I've got to attend a commitment review in my local job centre when I got upset on tge phone she said it was for my commitment to be around my health conditions but all ready in work so I font understand whst she means I'm honestly at breaking point I feel sp overwhelmed right now

Commitments are nothing to do with your PIP so they will not review that. Have you continued to provide fit notes without any gaps?

If they’ve asked you to attend in person and you’re unable to do that you can ask for a telephone appointment.

Once again poppy123456 thank you for your reply. I did ask for a telephone commitment review but she said it had to be done in person I asked whether they could wait for the outcome of my wca and she said no but im confused as to why I have a commitment review if im currently employed have you any ideas why this could be please?

If your earnings are more than £892/month then this is above the AET so you shouldn’t need to attend appointments.

If your earnings drop below the AET at anytime then this could be why you’ve been asked to attend this appointment.

Hi poppy123456 my earnings were down by £15 in December other than that they've been a little over £892 ,per month could this br the reason or do uou think its about my upcoming WCA please any jrllp would be much appreciated

It will definitely be because your earnings were under the AET. It won’t be anything related to the WCA.

No, you won't be in trouble at all. You'll just be asked questions about your work. Just tell your work coach that your earnings did drop below the AET slightly last month. These appointments are standard when your earnings drop below the AET.

Thank you poppy123456 I can't help but worry about this appointment I'm worried the job centre is going to make me look for a extra job or one that has more hours or something

You're welcome. Just explain that your usual earnings dropped. Once your earnings increase to above the AET you won't have any further appointments.

Okay thank you I've cancelled 2 wca appointments all ready as I'm worried about the outcome. I know I've asked this previously poppy123456 but if the worst happens and DWP put Me in the fit for for work group am I at risk of losing my pip?

It will not affect your PIP. Please be very wary about cancelling anymore WCA appointments because they could find you fit for work eventually.

I would advise you to try to attend your next appointment and then at least it will be over and done with and you can put that part behind you. It can't be good thinking about it like this all the time.

If you prefer telephone appointment for the WCA you can request that, if it's a face to face appointment you're sent.

Hi poppy123456 I've asked whether the appointment could be a Thursday/ Friday when my dad is able to come they said yes by telephone then sent out the 2nd appointment for a Wed I really appreciate all the help and kindness you've shown

You're very welcome. I'm sorry this whole process has been so difficult for you. I can honestly assure you that there will be no negative impact on your PIP.

Do you have someone else that can be with you during the assessment? The problem with requesting specific days is there may not be appointments available on those days so they have no option but to send the first available appointment.

HI poppy123456 no there's only my dad or my 11 year old daughter. The assessment is by phone but I still don't feel confident to do it by myself when I get anxious I jumble up my words and stutter I'm ever do nervous about what they'll ask and things
