SueHeath said:try to go with the flow @androgynous there isn't much we can do about it, the only positive thing about it is the biggest hike in fuel bills will be in Oct gives us a little time to try and save a bit extra. Hopefully we will have an early long hot summer to help us do this. x
Thanks for the positivity, I appreciate it.
Unfortunately, with all the increases I'm going to have with all my outgoings and no increase to my incomings, I've now got to apply for financial support. If don't get this, I'm considering what I can sell or 'manage' without to lower the cost of my outgoings. I've only got one thing I can get rid of which means I'll pretty much be housebound and I've been trying to avoid losing that bit of independence.
I seem to have gone from just about managing and having the things I need like heating and eating to wondering where i can make cutbacks this year.0 -
@androgynous if you are getting pip or other benefits there will be a rise applied in April around 3% I think
I'm having good day cleaning all done now having coffee and chill
Not cooking today having take away for tea0 -
I'm having grandkids over why mom n dad have a might off and a lie in Sunday, they work hard all week.
Plus there dropping me a Costa coffee off on there way back from shopping. Win win kids have demanded they drop off chocolate too. All the art stuff is out on the table and the tablet charged for two older 1s. Plus kids Netflix.0 -
Sounds great @Sandy_123 hope they don't wear you out0

Have a good chill and takeaway. I must finish my application for financial support this weekend as I'm told there's a huge backlog. I wonder why?
Yes, I'll receive a few quid for disability benefits but for my main benefit I won't see a rise in my income until my tp amount reduces to nothing. It's going in the right direction, whilst looking at my finances yesterday, I realised I'd had another £3 taken off me at xmas. I missed that one. It's literally just dawned on me it's because my income went up - I got the £10 xmas bonus, so they reduced my tp by £3? You couldn't make it up. That shouldn't have affected my 'rise' in income. In fact, my tp has now gone down by £3 every month, because of it. That was an expensive xmas bonus from the government and an excuse to make the poor, poorer. This will happen to all severely disabled claimants eventually in my opinion and there seem to be more changes afoot and you can bet your bottom dollar they won't 'benefit' claimants, excuse the pun. I've just noticed something else which is changing in 2023 which will affect me.
Back to the present - Back to begging for charity, humph
Back to the Future - laters0 -
Bizi day here for me and hubby we love our visits on Saturdays, 3 out of 6 grandchildren 2 sons and 1 wife ha ha lots of snacks eaten, bit of a mess and lots of washing up, but wouldn't have it any other way. x0

@androgynous sorry about your situation I don't know your circumstances but could you reduce your outgoings. If you have loans or debts often speaking to the lenders they will arrange a suitable payment plan
You can also get advice from cab or step change
I'm sorry if this isn't appropriate to you just trying to help0 -

Thanks for your advice, janer1967. I'm done with form filling for another day.
I'm thinking of selling the item I have a loan for and settling the loan. The problem is, I will get the increase in benefits and increase in rent but it will be taken straight out of my tp meaning my income will be exactly the same as it was before I got my increase in benefits, I.E. static. There will probably be very little of my tp left after April. I'm trying to work out the logic of giving the tp when it will only be a year or two before it's gone. Of course, there is no logic, it's just a whitewash heralding the end of 'disability premiums'.0 -
