That's a great little one @Justcheckingin151 -
Here’s another poem called ‘Life Is A Simulation.’Routines jitter through a sprawling network.
Obsolete data caught in the buffer
Of protocols and rapid expansion.

A poem called secret Illness.
I wish I could write a poem,
Like some I have seen on here,
To write about Christmas or even Autumns Cheer
To express the way in which I feel
It's not all about laughing and another beer.
I have this hidden illness, its always been around
When other look at me all they see, is a frown
I may look happy out side, its a mind game that I play
the turmoil and the stress in side, just isn't on display
My family just think I have lost the plot, and say I argue all the time,
But I truly wish, the stress would stop, instead of just a simple sneer
I'd love to be excepted for what I really am,
because that person that everyone knew, is still here, looking from within.
I wish that some would listen, when there is a cry for help
Instead of trying to pigeon hole me, saying he's beyond any help.
I have needs as well you know, just sometimes I loose the grip
But most of the time I sit here, that secret illness is just not on display.
This is for those that suffer stress alone, but there is help and you are never alone.3 -
@onebigvoice I agree with Libby_Scope your poem is very powerful and I would please never feel alone we are here for you0

The poem is my way of release and hope that others that read them realise that I believe we are all part of a friendship family joined together not because we all want to "**** about the system" but because some people suffer in silence when their is no need.
If you ever want to talk just don't bother looking for a category of what ailed you. just post and you will realise that others also suffer in silence will spark the need to them to close ranks with you as they are the same.
So on the bright side. ( for me) sorry guys I just finished another poem....... OH NO I hear you say, well just to let you know I'm deaf as well, another unseen illness, well its unheard of really but you know what I mean. Its some times good to have a light hearted look at your self and look at the positive points.
HERES A FACT THAT MOST DON'T REALISE:
Mental illnesses are on the rise in the disabled and sick community, and being sectioned a few times already, how many of the Sane people that assessed me had a certificate tom say they were sane? I HAVE 3? Yet my therapist has none? Makes me wonder how he got certificates to assess me when he doesn't have one him self? By experience maybe?0 -
Really powerful. Thanks for sharing it with us @onebigvoice. What an interesting point you raised at the end too!0

Seeing as its Mental Awareness week:
POEM MENTAL AWARE WEEK.
For those that do not know it
it’s mental awareness week,
It’s supposed to help us get support
And not label me as a freak
I don’t know why we need this week
To make others become aware,
I’ve been shout out about this
So other become aware.
Where is the support when you need it?
I filled out forms you know
They have even said we can help
And showed me were to go.
Its not, in my case, something,
that has just happened just now,
the long-term prospect of this illness
seems to be here to stay.
I may talk slow, or have some thing’s wrong
but not all are on display,
you don’t have to run away
you won’t really, really catch it.
Its this very attitude that I want to change
When you come into contact with me.
And realise that I’m the same as you
Its just all, seen within.
I don’t know where to shout, to get myself heard
It’s not something that happens only, around this time of year.
What has changed from last year, when things were put in place
The government says they will help, has left a nasty taste.
Its all one big ploy to get those wanted votes
But I am still in need of help, so hence I put this post.
Do you know how to get help? Or even where to go
To me it’s just another strike and another nasty blow.
So, government help me, I have a mental illness
Don’t just give me lip service, actually show me were to go.
Make this year really happen, and give the support we need
At a time when we need it most, and treat ME “with a beer”.

Really powerful poem @onebigvoice I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling to access support for your mental health, however. It can definitely be difficult to access the right level of support, and I too hope this is something that'll improve over time.
Have you spoken to your GP recently to update them on how you've been feeling? I'd encourage you to do so if not.
If you live in England, you can also refer yourself for talking therapy through the IAPT scheme, if that's something you think could help.
You can also see if there are any non-NHS mental health support services, such as charities, in your area by searching on the Hub of Hope. Mind are often a good charity to speak to, and they have plenty of helpful information on their website.
Please also remember that you can always contact the following organisations if you need someone to listen without judgement:- Samaritans: call 116 123, or email jo@samaritans.org
- SHOUT: text SHOUT to 85258 to speak to someone over text
- CALM: call 0800 58 58 58, or use their live web chat (from 5pm to 12am)

Thank you for clarifying that @onebigvoice I wasnt sure if the poem was written from your perspective, so thought it best to check. It's great that you're using your poetry to amplify the voices of others

Let's all cheer for summer is now here
Where the sky is all blue and clear
The sun bright yellow and shining down
Making one sweat with the heat and frown.
The shorts are out and tee-shirts too
Sandals, flip flops, sun hats to name a few
The deck chairs up in the garden to sit
Read a book, take a nap or endlessly knit
Light the bbq stick on some tasty food
Bangers,burgers and chicken skewered
Blow up the pool fill it with water cold
Pop your feet in its to cool you I'm told
Trips to the sea side with bucket and spade
For lots of big sandcastles to be made
Eat fish and chips and a ice cream too
Swim in the sea, jump over waves a few
When it's evening and sun has now gone
Light a candle and pop some music on
Cool down with the night time breeze
If you listen, the owl hooting in the trees
