A cup of tea
Pop the kettle on,I need to unwind, chill
Nice and strong, a splash of milk, brill
Put my feet up, no noise, just my drink
At last, I can hear myself think.
Pop the kettle on,a friend has come In
The fancy teapot comes out for wynn
The milk jug and sugar bowl come out too.
No cake, but a couple of biscuits to chew.
Pop the kettle on, there's a problem to fix
A tiff with him in doors, the tap still drips
I wouldn't mind, but I've told him several times
I wonder why I bother to ask sometimes
Pop the kettle on, let's have a nice brew
There's a new tv drama starting I'm into
It's a mystery but the story line is true
About a girl, went missing, named sue

And with that I'm popping the kettle on0

Clouds.
Black and white. Sometimes grey.
A splash of colour in the paintbrush jar.
Blobs speckling a worn canvas.
Fine lines scratched in all directions.
The torn edge of a sheet of paper.
Scrumple and start over.
Waking thoughts cling to the wisps of an abstract dream.
Broad strokes drifting towards the tangible.
Trying hard to capture
The meaning of it all.
Release.

Thanks @Alex_Scope and @Globster.
I don’t like to think too hard about writing. Just have fun, let the words flow out, and see what happens.

The first line was originally the third line and then it took on a whole life of its own.
NARC.
Sentences turn into a prison of the mind.
I’m not crazy though. Am I?
Life turned upside down.
Going down for something. False imprisonment.
Can’t make your bed when you’re handcuffed.
That’s a funny picture. Frame it.
I’m out of the picture.
Don’t be so negative.
Have one shot to make things right.
Snapshot of a brighter future.
But I’m in the wrong.
Barred from the community. Out of service.
A clean sweep!
Bringing forth a New Word Order.
That’s what I meant. With a side dish of salad. Food forethought.
Counsel my thoughts. Hold onto what’s real.
But, but, but…
A loaded chamber pointed at the truth.
Held ransom.
Ran some tests. Results came back negative.
A hollow crack from the butt of a gun.
Reason? No reason.
That’s treasonous by penalty of death.

Inner voice anxiety
Lovely day today to go town shopping.
Hmm, I don't know, consider swapping.
No, I will be fine, I won't be gone long.
Listen to me, you know lots will go wrong.
Sat at the bus stop, the sun rays feel warm.
Hey, careful the bus, it might crash I warn.
Distract my mind, I get out my phone
I know you can still hear me, go home.
Town is busy, I get all my shopping list.
Watch your bag, it will get taken, it persists.
I check, it's fine, I pull it closer to me.
What if you get ill? You'll regret it, see.
I feel a bit faint, anxiety is getting to me
I go for the bus back, wait by the big tree.
Oh dear, you'll faint, no one will help you.
If only you were here with someone you knew.
Get off the bus, I'm nearer home phew.
What If someone broke in, waiting for you?
Don't listen, it's not real, none of it is true.
I'm now home, it's safe, a cuppa or few.

That's a really powerful depiction of anxiety @Sandy_123 Well done! I'm sorry to hear that you've struggled with these kinds of thought patterns, though.
I also thought your poem was really thought provoking @Autumn_Feeling!

Yeah its all the time anxiety, mild and strong. Only started in menopause. I think most people could relate to that poem.1

Between 2016 and 2019 I experienced narcissistic abuse. Recently, I finally talked to a psychologist about it.Browsing the web, I learned that expressive writing is good for PTSD. It’s been really helpful while waiting for therapy options.
Heres another couple of poems that I wrote:
Two Step Program
There are only two ways of living.
First way: leave something behind.
Second way:
FlowGrabbing hold and letting go
Are dance partners
Who surrender to the medley in their hearts.0 -
What a fantastic talented group of posters, 👏👏👏👏0

Our Dad.The sadness and heartbreak I’ve seen today,
with heads bent forward, arms around each other
Pain and suffering, in silence and dismay,
We all feel the pain, my sisters and brother.
Our Mum, can still hear Dad call her name,
she turns around looking lost and bereft,
Fifty years together, it won’t ever be the same,
yet we’re all here with our memories still left.
We laugh, we cry, eat cake, drink tea,
with family and friends, all there in respect.
“Have a big party in remembrance of me”
he said we had to move on, we had to accept.
Years have gone by and our Mum’s doing well,
with all her family still around her.
She can still hear him call her, it’s no time for farewell,
he’s never gone way, he will always be there.

These poems are fantastic all, wow some sent a shiver down my spine.
Wouldn't it be a great idea, if it hasn't already been done, for some one to invest, as a good deed, and get all your wonderful poems together in a book and sell for scope xx1 -
