The 4 points is going to devistate me. I'm on the higher tier but just barely, the max I've got in a single catagory is 3 points. My condition hasn't improved - it's unlikely to ever improve. How can they say one day I have the right to daily living and the next I don't - despite no change in my circumstances or condition?
It's deeply cruel and unfair and at it's core shows the govt has no understanding or empathy abut how disabilities and long term sickness work. They need to talk to real people with sickness and disability but they can't and won't. PIP and ESA are my only means of survival and I live alone so no clue what I'll do (also I used to work but it made my illness and disabilities worse, I'm so sick of this whole 'work gives you dignity and cures everything' line - my employer made me sicker) - sorry for mini rant. Just tired.

I am on ESA contribution based so I will lose that support
I am only on lower daily care but not 4 points on anything so will lose out there too. My PIP review is happening at the minute but don't hold any hope in that. Apparently chronic fatigue isn't applicable as a reason for PIP and not being able to walk doesn't mean you can't walk and therefore in her opinion I can so no mobility award. I wasn't aggressive or miserable therefore I don't have anxiety or depression!
I have energy limiting chronic conditions that are life long and the only person I know who has it took 30 years to get well enough to go to work but still has relapses and if she gets a virus or anything she is off work for 7 weeks or so. If I get a cold etc it takes me months to get over it. I can't work but since there is a minimal hope of recovery it probably won't be counted as life long.
I have lost all hope and just feel like I'm fading away. We are also fighting for my husband who is my carer to not be forced to do 12 hour shifts. Everything in my life at the minute is stressful and that just makes my illnesses worse.
Sorry for the long post. I just don't know what to do.

My thinking/hope was the 4 point requirement alone would save them billions, without having to adjust descriptors to discriminate against mental health which was causing a huge backlash. Your take does make sense, though! That PIP assessment process review will be another future event to watch out for.

They can't take out the descriptor about mental health, at least completely, as discrimination between physical/mental ill health is against the Equality Act 2010. The Tories have tried to do this before but failed to get it through.

I just really hope a lot of this gets watered down. This 4 points thing isn't really fair and will discriminate against so many people and no doubt the assessors will probably deliberately keep it low. I don't trust any of this. That's interesting about pain and fatigue and not mild mental health being under the 2010 act.

Think they will get everyone reassessed as soon as possible then surely. They seem keen on ending the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA though is my impression from reading the paper.

I hate that you are already feeling that way, many more I think will be feeling the same as you today, so sorry for all those effected by these changes. I also think its a little insensitive for folk to be saying ''its not as bad as we thought'' we really do not have anything clearly and wholly defined yet ! I feel there will be many nuances and sub criteria added to each and every part of this, that the actual end result, in the ''small print'' as such, might be far from what this resembles at this point in time.

I get pip for ME/CFS and fibromyalgia. Did you record your assessment ? Either way you need to appeal

It was in the section about mitigating for people no longer getting LCW I the green paper.

But what does this mean when reviews come up the questions will be changed on pup form ?

I scored 4 on face to face but I bet they tske that out anyway not guaranteed at next review your get same points as before surly

And will be more crime people have to survive especially young people imagine some coming out of care and thrown to the world young people who are disowned by family it's real I used to be youth worker also been through so much as a young person

I am on old style Contributions Based ESA Support Group, what will happen to me? Will I be migrated into this Unemployment Insurance Contributory Benefit?

I agree. What about claimants who are under the 'severe conditions category'? Will they be protected?

hi thank you . Where did you post that ? Also is there any clarification regarding the 4? Points for pip .? I read it as you need one 4 point plus 4 random points for lower . But an extra random 4 points for higher

So does this in effect mean that the current new style ESA support group that is open ended and not means tested will in fact be means tested when the new insurance scheme is introduced and the time limitation expires?

i think its going to be based on getting 4 points for one descriptor for daily living regardless of how many in total for new claims existing claims will carry on until up for renewal
