Scroll to bottom and click respond online to answer green paper questions .

Havent done it myself yet but most definitely will be .

I haven't scored 4 points in 1 set activity just 2's in each one and because of this I will not only lose my money I'll also lose my carer . I bet there are going to be thousands in the same position . Shame on labour !

Can anyone answer whether old style contribution based ESA will remain or will this be migrated / merged?

I'm in the support group and very worried by the announcements

They are stupid. And cruel. And spiteful. I assume you mean you're on LCWRA for ESA/UC? I was on this alone for years until I was enouraged to try PIP and it's made a huge difference. The process is gruelling and not easy. I was lucky I got an assesor who treated me like a human being.

Personally I would strongly enocurage you got put a claim in for PIP if you can manage - in theory you should defintely get at least the lower tier and possibly the higher one due to being in LCWRA. I would recommend getting someone to help you fill out the form (it's 50 pages) if you can and especially go on YouTube and watch some videos about it. There's a YouTuber Charlie Anderson who goes through the form page by page, she's blunt about what you need to put and more importantly how to say it to get PIP points - this is her job (she's on PIP too), she also does lots of work with tribunals etc.

If you do decide to go for PIP and want some advice, feel free to contact me. It'd be awful it the govt suddenly had a massive influx of PIP claiments over this next year and were overrun…(half kidding)

I have heard that eligibility for existing claimants will be done at award review. However, the announcement talked about more reviews. Which is it? I am lucky enough to have been awarded an ongoing / 10 year award. Will I be left alone until then or will the assessments be ramped up as mentioned today? Or does that apply to other benefits?? So confused and worried.

Thank you for replying and thank you very much for your advice. One of the reasons I applied for pip was so I could afford a private diagnosis and medication etc as it would have improved my life substantially but financially at the moment it’s just not a possibility. Hoping the MR will go through but I doubt it will if I’m honest. And I did have some private counselling with a psychotherapist which was helpful but at £60 an hour (my dad paid) it wasn’t sustainable in the long term.
im sorry your mental health has been poor aswell these lot in government will never understand just how bad it really can be but the guide you’re producing sounds really good! If you do post it on here I’ll look forward to reading it :)

    Same for me.

I get reassessed for pip next year with four years until state retirement age.

I currently don't have a score of 4 in daily living and if I fail to get it next year I'm screwed having worked most of my adult life.

Kendall spun it like the reviews have been halted owing to Covid.

but the backlog is massive, Again reeves decided she wanted to speed up the migration from ESA to UC before the 2027 date and errors are being made and this is taking up more time.

the issue with my brother and how HB is worked out the helpline told him they are currently on 20k issues a week and as a result they have put an extension of 6 weeks onto his ESA/UC migration.

In all honesty how other green papers have proceeded, the bits they can restart outside these new plans that will require a change in the law 2026, but changing the points I believe even they said it would be 2028-2029. For Context the Tories wanted everyone off ESA on UC well over 8 years ago and still the migration is happening.

As long as you have scored 4 points in one of the activities you will be fine you have to score 8 standard 12 enhanced

if the esa legacy to lcwra migration doesn’t finish until 2027 what does that mean for TP if lcwra new claim is less from next April ? This is all so confusing to me . Now I’m hearing if esa on uc . I thought it was lcwra on uc

Don't worry too much, I am similar and could not travel for an assessment as am agrophobic, so they sent someone to my home to assess me. It took about an hour but soon passed and the person was able to see my aids I use to get about, walking frame etc. She seemed to quiz me but I also had someone with me during the interview. Try not to worry, I lost a lot of weight in the run up to the assessment!.

When they cut the WFP they kept telling people apply for PC,

So much has happened but I believe from another website the people who applied for Pension Credit actually made the WFP cut a waste of time.

this is exactly why they are cruel, They have a donor who runs an Energy firm

GB Energy could become a provider and offer a social tariff this plan alone would make the case of the WFP not needed anymore because like we are seeing with ASDA dropping prices the other companies are now following, The lack of creative ideas and actually helping as many people as possible is staggering even for Starmer.

the guy stood for the leadership saying UC was disgusting and it would be axed,

He would have been voted out 1st round had he announced plans like this

Reid on GMB has been the only one hammering them over this, and Glad she came out and told them this is not Labour they are not Labour.

I am no expert but when top economists tell Reeves the lower 50% (all of us)

fuel growth as nearly all the money goes to buy goods and services just how detached from reality must someone be not to see you take money off people who put it back into the economy growth goes out the window.

How is the goverment going to review everyone on pip, do they start on surname A and work to Z ?

Is it age, yonger people first ?

How are the goverment going to pay for all the extra work and money it will cost to review everyone.

I am feeling so depressed and physically sick, if I loose my Pip it will be the end for me, I could not manage.

It also feels like the goverment are whipping up a storm of discrimination towards disabled/sick people, I have never heard such nasty comments towards people as if disable/sick people were all on the scroung.

    Very worried.

Yes, Reeves decided in the recent budget the process of Migration had to be speeded up.

there's a professional forum case workers use for various councils that offer advice

I truly wish I could post the link my sister has access owing to her job, and they are just as

confused/angry as we are. Migration invites are being sent out for those on ESA and typically if you heard say in March you have till June to start the application, You can ask for an extension but this is VITAL,

some get the letter panic and start the claim within days, Once the claim starts the old money (*ESA and HB if claiming) stops, So the advice is wait till the best time for you if there is one.

what normally happens then you get 2 weeks of the ESA paid into the bank account a few weeks later, they say its 5 weeks until UC starts because the migration is just that its getting people on ESA over to UC, they CANNOT stop UC the disability element unless you have undergone a WCA, this is where again it gets vague they say in the journal that's created

if you currently have a WCA on the ESA you have in Due course you will have another under UC but again from another forum the backlog is just massive.

On the invite letter 2nd page there's a phone number to help people run by CAB and they are helpful. Also there should be local charities that offer advice on benefits and normally they have a system in place to allocate a case worker to help a person through the process.

Has it even dawned on them if people are just on ESA/UC atm and PIP becomes the gateway to keeping these payments then applications for PIP is going to increase even more.

Economists urge Rachel Reeves to bend fiscal rules instead of cutting welfare

People who get benefits spend that money, it goes directly back into the economy.

You take money from people and they will spend less which have a knock on effect to the economy as a whole.
