How is the goverment going to review everyone on pip, do they start on surname A and work to Z ?
Is it age, yonger people first ?
How are the goverment going to pay for all the extra work and money it will cost to review everyone.
I am feeling so depressed and physically sick, if I loose my Pip it will be the end for me, I could not manage.
It also feels like the goverment are whipping up a storm of discrimination towards disabled/sick people, I have never heard such nasty comments towards people as if disable/sick people were all on the scroung.
Very worried.

Yes, Reeves decided in the recent budget the process of Migration had to be speeded up.
there's a professional forum case workers use for various councils that offer advice
I truly wish I could post the link my sister has access owing to her job, and they are just as
confused/angry as we are. Migration invites are being sent out for those on ESA and typically if you heard say in March you have till June to start the application, You can ask for an extension but this is VITAL,
some get the letter panic and start the claim within days, Once the claim starts the old money (*ESA and HB if claiming) stops, So the advice is wait till the best time for you if there is one.
what normally happens then you get 2 weeks of the ESA paid into the bank account a few weeks later, they say its 5 weeks until UC starts because the migration is just that its getting people on ESA over to UC, they CANNOT stop UC the disability element unless you have undergone a WCA, this is where again it gets vague they say in the journal that's created
if you currently have a WCA on the ESA you have in Due course you will have another under UC but again from another forum the backlog is just massive.
On the invite letter 2nd page there's a phone number to help people run by CAB and they are helpful. Also there should be local charities that offer advice on benefits and normally they have a system in place to allocate a case worker to help a person through the process.
Has it even dawned on them if people are just on ESA/UC atm and PIP becomes the gateway to keeping these payments then applications for PIP is going to increase even more.

Economists urge Rachel Reeves to bend fiscal rules instead of cutting welfare
People who get benefits spend that money, it goes directly back into the economy.
You take money from people and they will spend less which have a knock on effect to the economy as a whole.

okay so a lot of us can't take to the streets to protest but anyone on LCWRA only can make a claim for PIP.
Totally flood them ! (and it will mean people already receiving it will have review delays)

Surely we are all ill/disabled.
Thats why we rely on benefits.

Thank you for thank . But I’m still so confused. I assumed I’ll go over to lcwra so what’s esa on uc ? Why is there two sickness benefits ? Yes I also thought that . It was even reported when the Tory’s planned to scrap wca and have just pip assessment ppl said the claims will go up . They tried saving money when it was DLA but by the time they paid Atos etc and claimant numbers have risen that idea failed as will this one

I sincerely hope that happens because the fact the media wont mention there's still around 32 billion in Benefits people have not claimed.
This is the warped thing about this, the UK pays some of the smallest amounts to disabled
yet they face the most hostile measures to get the money. Even those not in the LCWRA can make a claim as its a totally separate payment at the moment.

I was always told told old style contributory ESA would not migrate, has this now changed with today's announcement?
1 -
So as it stands right now.
People who currently on ESA who get the invite over to UC will not be worst off
if moving over makes that person worst off then the transitional protection kicks in
This is very important DO NOT apply for UC until you are invited as doing so before means you lose that protection of not being worst off. This is the shambles with my brother
because of the complex family setup they openly admit they have no idea how to proceed.

I'm sure a lot of us are going to get a decent needed sleep tonight as maybe not effected in the short term. I'm equally as sure there are plenty that won't, and that's a horrible place to be. I don't usually repost other people's stuff on social media, but I did see this.
"How about awarding MPs their salaries on a points system? We can give them a 50-page form to fill out to show us what they have accomplished, and they can be regularly assessed to see if they qualify for money like disabled people. That would be more efficient, right?"

You're welcome. I'm planning to create a range of short advice booklets about a range of things but with a special focus on disabilitiesa and illness. I'm hoping to have a few booklets and trial versions I could perhaps post here when they're done. Between myself and my family I think we've covered every single major scenario people can go through in their lifetimes!
I just discovered a good youtube site about ADHD that was helpful - the shorts made me cry with their accuracy: https://www.youtube.com/@ADHD_Chatter_Podcast
Do you actually have PIP right now, or is it UC/ESA? If you haven't got PIP I would still try to apply for it, the extra money will make a difference, I put it towards counselling amoung other things totry to keep my mental health sort-of OK.
With counselling I completely understand. My counsellor was orginally a trainee and I get a discount due to being on PIP that she offered. There's some registers you can look through where people offer discounted rates of £20-£30 (or pos lower) - but I know even that can be challenging for people. I could link some options if that helps?

I effing hope so too.

I don’t get SDP so I’ll be better off anyway but I’m confused as to what is esa on uc ? Why do some get lcwra and some get esa uc ? Why are there so many different benefits. CAB etc are going to need training again for all the new plans

I think it is, I looked at criteria today, so you should be OK. 👍️Sorry if it's a duplicate answer.

contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), also known as New Style ESA, is not affected by the move to Universal Credit and will continue to be paid separately.
Sorry long day, So that part of ESA remains the same.
So the migration is for people on income related ESA to UC
and reeves wants the final migration letters out by Dec 2025 so by 2026 that part is closed.

I think I'm on old style contributory ESA, is that a thing? It was before UC came in. Will this not be migrated either?
Thanks so much for the reply.

Spot on. It's a bit weird to have mass media discuss whether one is a scrounger or not. It seems for existent claimants any actions will be delayed, and for many they can actually sleep and get on with their lives, at least in the short term, if the interpretations are correct. This is an example of how weird our society is. The government does have a 'behavioural science' unit , and I question whether this negative onslaught is to put people off claiming benefits. If that is the case, then it's severely at the detriment of people's mental health. I'd be surprised if over recent days there hasn't been a single suicide due to all this.

Yes from what I gather that part wont change,
its the income related ESA migrations to UC are happening,
