I absolutely wish before brexit I'd moved I absolutely can't stand England anymore .

All it has now is the worst of everything

I absolutely wish the Leave voters had used a bit of common sense before pandering to the Tories and ruining this country for the rest of us. I'm just waiting for someone to blame Keir Starmer for that too

    😆

Absolutely. I'm pleased for those who won't be affected but for a lot of us we get 2s or 3s on several descriptors but not many 4s around so we're set to lose it if this goes through. The 'Government' has always gone on about independent living but that's going to be impossible as we won't be able to afford care. Even if I wasn't in this situation myself I'd be outraged at what they're proposing. 😡

It's a never ending bombardment. It's nothing to do with a 'moral duty' (as they said) - it's getting money from easy targets. This is not going to save money at all. There will be housing issues (I rent my place so don't know what's going to happen there) the NHS will be overloaded with people getting ill (and probably worse). They will have blood on their hands 😠

I was raped , contracted HIV and I self harm and have bulimia, I soil myself ,I have bad days and VERY bad days, I'm now on suicide watch all because of this , it looks like due to PiP moving the goalposts that I have zero chance of getting it now , I really don't see the point of going on anymore

    They have broken me/us

    Hi ,

Can someone from scope please confirm or deny this piece of information I’ve just read please. According to what I read the descriptors for pip such as needing help with washing and going toilet etc will not count unless it’s outside professional carers , not family or friends. Is this true ?

Benefits and Work's news is calling the Green Paper bogus.

"The DWP has launched an entirely bogus consultation on changes to personal independence payment (PIP) and universal credit (UC) by refusing to consult on almost everything that matters most to claimants."

    "Silencing voices

The Green paper consultation is so dishonest that we feel unable to recommend that people take part in the way we normally would, though we also know that the DWP may argue that lack of response means that most people do not object to the changes.

In the Green paper, the DWP claim that “We are committed to putting the views and voices of disabled people and people with health conditions at the heart of everything we do.”

In fact, this bogus consultation is entirely about silencing the voices of disabled people and people with health conditions.

The reality is that the DWP under Labour is proving to be even more dishonest and devious than it was under the Tories."

I am in a similar postion to you as now over 70 years and moved to PIP from DLA. I have enhanced Daily Living as got 12 points but no 4 in any one discription. I'm light touch as well but have got much worse since I first got PIP. I 'think' once you are up for a review only then can you tell them how bad you have got (same as me) Being disabled you seem to age quicker and muscle mass decreases quicker. I so hope we all get answers soon enough as I lay awake wondering how will cope without the extra money from PIP. 😧 Labour seem determined to see off the oldies one way or anther.

I wonder what this means about 'new people claiming'. They're really needs to be more clarification on this. However I have my suspicions that all new/existing claimants will affected either now or down the line. I haven't filled in the response to the green paper yet. However I did email two MP's today. One of them who stood up for us today in parliament (Colum Eastwood).

If that's true; that's technically DWP stating they don't trust people's families

Where did you see this ?

yes, you are spot on. Make sure you record any further difficulties you are having and any evidence to support those. PIP assure me that nothing will change while my award is ongoing. Like you, when the soft touch review becomes due ( in my case Dec 2027) could be the right time to challenge, on the other hand they may just keep you as you are (which I would be happy with).

I have the 4 points and 16 points in total. 10 year award, enhanced / enhanced. It seems like people in this category will be left alone and won't have to be reassessed

in the comments on dynamic duo . I can’t confirm it’s true which is why I asked scope for clarification. But they haven’t changed the pip form criteria and of course there’s carers allowance. So hopefully it’s not true . If it were almost no one would get it as who has a live in professional carer.

I don’t think it would mean that but just a loop hole . How many have a live in professional carer . Hopefully it’s not true but we need scope to clarify this .

Why didn't you reason that out before posting?
