Did you appeal? I had to appeal for DLA before pip came in and I won.
0 -
no didn’t appeal I applied once pip then when it changed to adp in Scotland re applied but still no luck

I was wondering the same for legacy old CB ESA which I receive as nothing was said about that either.

If you are talking about pip it is not awarded based on what disease or condition you have whatsoever. It is only based on the impact of your condition on your mobility and daily living. It le purely a functional benefit, nothing to do with tour diagnosis whether for existing or new pip claimant. Didnt you know that ? Are you receiving pip?

Doesnt Scotland have an appeal process too? You must do that. What have you got to lose?

I don't score 4 points on the daily living tasks either, but really feel when my PIP is up for renewal, I won't stand a chance. I will be back on the poverty line and my mental health will spiral down to a point I won't function at all.
Typically decisions made by fools who have no idea. I just hope the Mental Health charities can oppose this to the highest level and speak for those of us less able.
I thought Starmer was a human rights activist and yet here he is taking away that very thing from us.

I feel for you .when I was awarded enhanced rate for care i also disagreed with a hugely underscored activity which I need the most care for and like you , I dodnt want more interaction about as I was awarded highest rate, in my case it is pure luck that I have 4 in one activity because this is turning out to be so random and unfair . For the time being nothingis at risk of happening to you until your next review is due and at that stage I would strongly raise the issue of scoring in the first place and appeal if necessary but you might be left alone about it for a long time to come ..I hope the 4 point rule is hugely contested as this is truly wrong.

I also wonder about old CB ESA?

None of the changes will affect mobility component at all

This is what it's saying MB8 in the Green Paper. I feel there needs to be more clarification on this. I claim ESA (CB) and I'm in the support group and was awarded it for 10 years.
53. Unemployment insurance would be a new non-means tested entitlement for people who have contributed into the system. It would be created by replacing contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) with a new single entitlement, paid at the current ESA rate (currently £138pw) and will be time-limited. This would provide stronger income protection during periods of unemployment for those with a recent work record, while revitalising the ‘something-for-something’ contributory principle in the working-age system. People claiming this would be expected to actively seek work, with easements for those with work-limiting health conditions.
54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC, depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA, by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC.

NNo one has said anything about scrapping old CB ESA..it is only new claimants who were put on new style ESA. I receive old CB esa and liz kendal disnt seem to mention changes to it .

Barton, there are protections in Scotland for those with cancer. Loads of options. MacMillan will handle your appeals or claim if you have a cancer diagnosis. There is a dedicated benefits unit at the Beatson in Glasgow. Sorry if I sound emphatic but if you have leukaemia with treatment required every day and the travel that requires then you would qualify for ADP on quick route. I cannot understand the nil points they’ve given you.

Try not to worry too much - I got myself into a bit of a state worrying about it all and having to constantly justify.
It wasn't as bad as I thought. Like with all of us, what comes in goes out on living expenses - it can be clearly seen.
I think because everything is done online (pay carer etc.) a one-off cash withdrawal probably caught her eye.
She also questioned my lack of statements for my savings account. I had exactly £5.63 in it 😂 and there had been no transactions, so no statements, so she was fine with that.
I think (and I'm not an expert) they're looking for either big sums of money coming in and going out or smaller, regular transfers. I think it's more about fraud.
For instance, sometimes I just cannot cook (even a quick meal in the microwave) so there were a few Just Eat deliveries - always the same amount as I can only eat certain stuff due to IBD - she never even asked about that.
I hope this has made you feel a bit better 🙂 If you have any questions or just need a bit of support when it comes round just give a shout. I really do understand how you feel. x0 -
Anyone with ESA contribution based, if that proposal goes ahead, will lose their entitlement eventually 6-12 months. As well as any NI contributions for their future pension.
So if you are on ESA contributions based I would reply to their green paper pointing that out.

Hope theirs not going to be more benefits cuts

definately get a dictaphone, basic ones are pretty cheep and straightforward to use. A lot of phones have apps you can download, most are just recording somoene's voice, so you can put the phone down (even have the screen shut off and you don't have to use it. I do think you legally have to tell someone you're recording them though.
