I know the previous government limited ESA (CB) based to one year if you weren't put into the support group.

True. I became physically disabled as a child. I was an adult before I was diagnosed.

I found an excellent video ironically it was nothing to do with these reforms, but someone asking a LBC legal expert for advice on an employer refusing reasonable adjustments.

Surprise surprise it was revealed HR didnt care, and refused all requests, he was asked to prove disability after he had supplied proof already from GP and hospital.

Eye opening part was in all of the comments flooded with disabled workers have similar issues with their employers, many of them had lost their job because of it.

So DWP where are all these disabled friendly employers?

Sent the video link to my MP who is part of the DWP crew.

    I'm a member of DPAC. 😊

At the top of the home page, click Join. I know you've already joined but, as you will see under Yearly Subs they ask you to pay a £2.00 (for unwaged) subscription annually. They then ask you to press the Donate button on the right to pay it.

I hope that will help you. 👍

as far as i know they have not took the substantial risk away honestly these reforms are not that bad imo i was thinking they we're going to be FAAAAAAAAR worse the only thing that i am going to be effected by is i wont get a rise every year on LCWRA group till 2030? the welfare system NEEDS to be reformed and this is probs the best possible reform we could hope for

I don't deny anything. I accept that in any system there will be cheats, it's human nature.

However, what you said is there are over diagnoses in certain circumstances. Who do you believe is involved in this? Medics? DWP Assessors?

You said in certain circumstances, this over diagnosis occurs, as did I regarding previous under diagnosis.

So, I'd start with previous under diagnosis of, say, Autism or Dyslexia. It's clear, to me at least, and there were children in my classes at school who were let down as no one looked beyond their "lack of intelligence" or "weirdness".

Or my father in law suffering years of undiagnosed agony/fatigue from what would now most likely be recognised as Fibromyalga or CPS and treated accordingly.

Care to share which diagnoses you've decided are over diagnosed by scammers and/or nscrupulous medics?

I'm genuinely interested in which conditions and which medics you believe are involved in this. Not least to see if you have some useful research or insight to back up your assertion of over diagnosis which, I believe, is very different to an individual scamming the system.

To repeat, I am genuinely interested to hear what conditions and also the evidence, research, experience or unique insight that supports your assertion.

    @YogiBear

    Again you're welcome. 😊

I've sent them a donation before now but they don't reply. Presumably to save time and money which is understandable for a charity. To be on the mailing list you will need to go to the top right hand corner of the Home page There you will see a box saying Enter your email. Do that and press the button underneath that says Subscribe. You will soon get the DPAC's newsletter to tell you about the latest news, campaigns etc in your inbox. 👍

Just what might seem a minor point but could be a tipping point( for the wholeUK actually?)Steven Flynn who is the Westminster SNP leader is planner to leave London and rejoin the Scottish Parliament. He is a very vocal opposing voice to the Benefit cuts. Flynn is undoubtedly a candidate for leadership of the Scottish Parliament. This will happen in the next two years. I’m not an anti unionist but I do believe in SNP policies which are left. Scotland contributes 4/5 times to the national GDP than Wales, twice as much as Northern Ireland.. it’s pretty much next to London? A Scotland who completely opposes these Benefit Reforms is very likely IMO. Starmer will not alienate the Scottish Parliament because given his defence moves.. all the UK’s nuclear deterrent is in Scotland. The King is part Scottish.. all the oil is here. I pray that we set up at rival disability system that challenges the UK whole. We already have ADP rather than PIP. The assessment is different. I’ve been assessed on both systems.. very different. Will they risk an alternative in a year or two under Steven Flynn? I don’t see it.. so many variables, so much hassle. Wales won’t even send the changes to it’s disabled constituents? They disagree with it so fiercely?

@Maggie37 I love how Sarwar is talking like he'll be next FM.

Starmer's own ambitions appear to have successfully wrecked those of so many Labour politicians/wannabe Labour politicians.

Sarwar's delusion, and Starmer's cutthroat selfish ambition, are two of very few things keeping me entertained in the current climate!

I read only 7 mps are going to vote against the cuts. The rest have been threatened by starmer not to vote against the cuts or else.

Yes I know. I sawKendall threatening that during her speech but was minor point as far as I saw it. There is NO way they can bypass major policy change in Scotland. They’d crash the economy. I think Flynn’s move is leadership bid for Scottish Parliament. I also don’t think Nicola is finished.. despite her assurances.

I think he’s done. Starmers policies don’t sit well with Scottish culture which is essentially Scandinavian in political bent. I hope Stephen Flynn bests him eventually.
