Apart from the failure to elaborate on what these "consequences" might be, and the mystifying claim that this "goes far beyond welfare", there is an implicit suggestion here that there's some doubt about getting the cuts through as presented. It's quite desperate language they're using - "we have to" and "if we cannot, then..."
I also notice a tone of real uncertainty in the statement about there not being a clear leader of the rebels, and deep concerns across the party. Something doesn't add up here.

Early this morning, I saw a FB post from a local group, urging PIP claimants to reapply now. I assume they meant report a change of circumstances. The idea is to ensure the claimant is assessed before the 4-point rule and before any change in descriptors. I wouldn't do this myself. I have multiple "fours" and higher scores and some years before reassessment. (I was awarded 10 years.) However, if enough claimants did this, the DWP would be in meltdown.

The Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill is due to be published this afternoon. This is the bill that will enable the introduction of the PIP 4-point rule and cuts to universal credit for disabled claimants.

According to the UK parliament website, it is a: "Bill to make provision to alter the rates of the standard allowance, limited capability for work element and limited capability for work and work-related activity element of universal credit and the rates of income-related employment and support allowance, and to restrict eligibility for the personal independence payment."
Today's First Reading seems only to deal with UC cuts and PIP. There's nothing about the abolition of WCA, ages at which young claimants can claim adult benefits, and much more that is in the Green Paper.
Have l misread this? Will there be more than one Bill to do with Welfare?

If assessors continue to mark down as they currently do the system will go into meltdown. Far worse than when pip first came in and they had to train new judges and hire extra premises. They reckon they can’t u turn as our money has been spent, well they’re going to be paying out more on appeals etc than they costed in

It feels like blackmail to me . If the rebels don’t vote this through things will be worse for other more worthy people. Is this where ending child poverty comes in ? They are supposedly looking into that and two child limit in autumn and hoping to vote for disability cuts asap . Whatever it is it seems as though only sacrificing us can save the country. That’s how I read that and how I’ve felt for a long time .

Absolutely agree, it's blackmailing language and that is the only quoted basis for what has been written about in the media in the last day or two. The same quotes rehashed, and they are essentially characterised by a tone of "these are our demands."

I have never come across a "sadistic" one but ones who clearly didn't understand how my disability impacts my daily life.

Morning luv pink, hope you’re ok .
My first assessor was definitely sadistic . She barely looked at me then lied I had good eye contact. Ignored all Dr evidence apart from one which she lied about . While report said claimant says she can’t do this I say she can . Zero points .
Even the assessment centres are the same , they called me 30 minutes before my phone assessment to say no recording available as dwp booked with the wrong person even though dwp don’t make the appointment. Assessor seemed lovely but I wasn’t falling for that . She increased my care to enhanced and decreased mobility ( got back at MR) . I couldn’t work out why . Now when I check my points I see where I should of gotten at least a 4 but she was steering me towards 2, points0 -

I don't understand 13 week does everything stop at 13 weeks if you don't get pip you have to reapply for something else ie jsa

They cancelled Wales and did same London timms walked by lady who fainted can they get done for this ??? Ie taken to court it's ludicrous and diabolical
