Hi @StarryEyed, Fabulous hairstyle, I just love it! Your photo captures your essence and I hope you're very pleased with it. Making me thinking of getting a re-style π« π. Edited to add you've a lovely complexion/glow and no make up needed!

Thank you @Santosha12 Oh, you're so kind. Gee shucks. ππΌβ€οΈπ I have to practice now to try to get that style with mousse, then blow dry while curling with a tiny roll brush, then hairspray. My hair is very straight, so without the style it's a totally different pixie cut, which I also really like. The wash, cut and style was about Β£35, which is quite the deal, but still very expensive for me. So hopefully I can maintain it by cutting it for a while it as it grows.

It really suits you and its a lovely style.

It looks brilliant @StarryEyed you will soon get the hang of doing it yourself.
Take care.

I have cut my own hair since I was about 20. OK, shaving it all off isn't that hard! π

Wow, good price, I was quoted Β£27.00 recently for a dry cut/not a restyle, so I just put it in a ponytail, flipped it forward and lopped off a few inches in one fell swoop with my big scissors π. Yes, a tiny roll brush and you'll nail it.
The word bouffant came to my mind, I don't mean like the beehive or top heavy style at all, so just googled it - it came up with 'Modern Bouffant' on Pinterest with quite a few photos. Very similar to your style but could give you some ideas when doing it yourself too. I still don't know how to link here but if you can't find it I will try π« π.
You have to Google '25 Bouffant hair ideas short hair styles for women' otherwise it comes up with the big hair.

Hey @StarryEyed you look good and scrub up pretty well ππ

Ah shucks guys!!! Thank you for your sweet words. I'm trying to snap out of a funk on my physical appearance for a few years now as I've been so absorbed in addressing physical health and mental health. Buying some new clothes this week too. Quite likely some others on the forum with disabilities can relate to having to prioritise health over outward appearance?

Oh, and, @Santosha12 I found what you were referring to. Gorgeous styles! Really you can do more styles with short hair than long hair. Awesome! So are you thinking of one of those for yourself? And, yes, it's a great price for here too. But I'd rather spend the money on other stuff, if possible. I'm heading out shortly to buy the proper brush to start practicing π
@SoapySoutar my brother has also done his own hair since his 20s - a buzz cut. Imagine how much money you've saved over the years?!

Can absolutely relate @StarryEyed. I always went every 8 weeks plus foils twice a year; I don't worry now re highlights and do my roots myself, after fracturing my wrist I realised 2 weeks ago I couldn't squeeze the bottle π so tipped it all in a bowl and used fingers. What a palaver π¬ππ . Ingenuity now required and going to try it with a syringe next time, put my protective glasses on and use my teeth for syringe if necessary. Needs must π. I've not been to my salon since c 2022, my big scissors are my best friend but thinking of a restyle now as it's far too long. I just couldn't sit in a chair for 2 or 3 hours now or even get their easily.
I hope you have an enjoyable time next week in choosing your new clothes, that's exciting. Will you do it online or do you go to the shops? I do think it's all important as it can help get our 'mojo' back, despite everything else going on. And because surely we're worth it π€©. Your thread has inspired me and will galvanise me into action so thank you for sharing.

You inspire me too @Santosha12 π You're incredibly creative and perseverant to be doing your hair with after breaking your wrist. Wow! I too can't stand the amount of time to have it done in the salon. It's a ridiculous stress and a waste of time! So I take the simplest route.... The colour I choose is close to my own colour, so I just do it every three months and just dump all the colour in one shot. It's crazy easy and takes no time. I'm doing it tomorrow.
Re clothes.... I never buy them online. Typically I buy basics new and as much as possible second hand because it's typically better quality, more original and cheaper, and a lot of fun to go treasure hunting through all the old stuff. oh and it's good for the environment too. It can be a fun experience in time travelling too, seeing the old styles. π I've been buying second hand since my teens. What about you?

Aw thanks @StarryEyed, I've always loved charity shops and a good rummage and yes, especially for unusual and vintage styles which were exciting and unique.
I just found out the one nearest to me (3 mins in car) has closed down several months ago. I can't easily get into my local, small town (only a mile away) but going to make enquiries on Tuesday to see if a small car park is still accessible as some building work was going on and I'd be able to get to two charity shops near there once my wrist is a bit stronger/stable as I use my stick in that hand. I've only been into the town once in the last c 3 years. It would be really great to be able to go again. I've got solar panels/roof insulation etc being fitted soon so can't go nowhere then for a few weeks but it'll give a chance for wrist to heal.
I remember going to jumble sales with mum, I'm sure most things were only around 10p although that was the 1970's π and they'd no overheads like the shops. I found a lovely German amber necklace/pendant c 10 years ago in a charity shop for Β£2.00.
When I moved to my small bungalow 3.5 years ago I got rid of loads of my clothes, many from the '80's and '90's but as a size 4 and 6 then, well..... there's no chance they'd fit again π€πso at least someone benefited in the charity shops.
There was a lovely 'preloved' clothing shop I used to go to a lot before i got ill in 2020, especially for evening wear (not a charity shop) but a lot of designer stuff but I wasn't bothered for 'named' brands, just lovely evening dresses for c Β£50. As I don't go anywhere now I don't go there anymore plus it's c 20 miles away and couldn't drive that far.
I buy my hair colour when it's on offer ( 2 for Β£12) so lasts c 3 or 4 months, dark blonde but I have a spray one too which can touch up roots but my 'au naturelle' colour is now grey πͺππ . Compared to the c Β£120 i paid for highlights etc before, it saves hundreds a year so every cloud......π.
I'm going to gather some numbers tomorrow for mobile hairdressers, as long as they can tolerate my dogs but they're quite good and will just sit and watch especially if I just keep saying 'mummy's just having a groom', they'll understand that ha ha. Ooh I hope you enjoy your shopping trip next week, I feel very excited for you!

Thank you so much, @Holly_Scope and @SheffieldMan1976 ππΌπ I had medium to long hair almost all my life and really liked it, but in 2015 I lost all my hair due to chemo. I had a short wig that I fell in love with, and have kept my hair short since. Short hair needs more work, but a hat fixes even the worst bad hair days. π
@Santosha12 apart from the second-hand stores, we also have yard sales in Canada and I loved those, which is kind of like the UK car boot sales that you have in a field. I've been to England to visit a friend there three times, in Norwich, and I went to a car boot sale once and many times to the charity shops, which are spectacular. They were the highlight of my trips. That's how much I love second-hand shopping! Oh how exciting that you've found some stores! Fingers crossed that it works out!!
Size 4?? OMG. I think the last time I was a size 4 was when I was 10. π Yeah, I don't care about brand names either. I've got a really good eye that compensates for my tiny budget. Here's the dress I bought secondhand for the formal wedding in 2 weeks. I paid Β£17! (It looks tiny, but it's not)...

Nice frock, my tutor from my course got hitched yesterday, saw her dress on Facebook a bit since, she always was a nice looking lady.

Wow, stunning dress @StarryEyed, and brilliant price!! Oh I forgot about car boot sales, used to go with my husband years ago, good fun he picked up some amazing vinyls and a lot of rare ones too to add to his (thousands ππ) collection.
Yes a 4 wasn't good, think it was equivalent to a US size 1 or 2 and only a couple of shops in London I could get new clothes from but I had a good dressmaker who did alterations.
