Oh what a treat to read your replies 🥰 Truth be told, I have some yucky pics of myself too. But you don't get to see them 😁 You only get to see my best face, which is an improvement, but it's still a kick in the pants to be so far from where I want to be. So the downside of trying to feel pretty is facing why you don't feel pretty. I'm trying my hardest to embrace what I have and accept what I can't change. You know, that Serenity Prayer philosophy that is perfect for situations like this. We're always changing, so we're always challenged to adapt. I wonder how others here embrace your changing appearance?

Yes, I'm going to try to go out more. Most of what I bought was bought to dress up after the wedding too as well as to make myself a little more presentable every day. It's so much easier to curl up inside and not try to be pretty or social. One of my favourite phrases comes to mind....

Yes, I'm finally fully recovered this morning. A cousin picked me up at 10:30 am and I only stayed until 8, when the music started, so was home by 9. But, yes, it was still exhausting. It was sooooo worth it though to be part of this new stage in our family. This is in the line of my favourite aunt, and it is her first grandchild to get married. It was such an honour and privilege to attend.

Yes, the wedding dress was spectacular. It was made for her in Madrid. It was like a fashion show to see everyone dressed to the hilt. I am nowhere near as beautiful as most people who were there, but it really doesn't matter to me. It's never really been of much importance to me. My priority and focus have always been my health, and I have little time, money or energy to spare on anything else. So to me, my painted toes were the highlight of the night 😁 But it is really nice to take a break from these health problems and focus on something light and simple like a makeover.

Omg you guys are so very sweet!! 🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰 I went out tonight with some friends for a beer on a rooftop terrace, and wore a new blouse, fixed my hair and did my new henna eyebrows. It was so very nice. So civilised.

My day has been great so far. I went for breakfast with friends and have been doing stuff around the house all day as I'm going on a trip tomorrow for a couple of days. I washed and pressed my new lemon scarf and will wear it on my trip, thinking of you, with one of my new scarf rings and new T-shirt, like this...

And I started a new audiobook today that I read back in highschool. I have wanted to re-read it since as I adored it. It's about a white guy who disguises himself as a black guy and comments on the difference. It starts in 1959 in the southern US. I'm reading it because I've lived so many different ways in the world that I find it confusing yet interesting. I've been obese and skinny and everything in between, completely psychotic and completely sane and everything in between, a visible white majority in Canada and a visible immigrant white minority in Spain, poor and comfortable and everything in between, able bodied and physically disabled.... Well those are the big ones. So I'm hoping going back to the book may shed some light on my current struggles to adapt to the new me. This is the book in case you or anyone else is interested. It's called "Black Like Me" by John Howard Griffin.

Thank you! The scarf looks even better on as it puffs up because it's a slightly stiff linen. I'm wearing it today and tomorrow. I've never had scarf rings, and just love them!

Also as part of my makeover, I've catalogued pics of all my rings onto one page. So now I can pick out rings easier because I can see them all at once. It's such a cinch now!

Well it turns out 70s Glam Rock was a big thing in the UK and originated there, but there was little of it in Canada, which explains why I'm not familiar with it. We had and have a ton of British music, but not that. I was born in 63, so grew up in the 60s and 70s and clung onto soft rock, hippy music, the rock music that's now called classic rock and disco. Those spoke most to me. Over the years I've come to love other types of music from the 60s and 70s. But what I listened to on that glam rock playlist? Nope. (Bowie post Ziggy Stardust, yes, of course).

My favourite cousin picked me up from the hotel yesterday and we spent a fantastic day together, including shopping at my favourite (secondhand) store there, where I completed my spring-summer wardrobe with two blouses and five pairs of pants. One pair is coral pink and another lilac. For real! I'm not trying to find colours like yours. They're finding me. Honest!! Lol! And it's such a crazy coincidence that only a picture could convince you. 😁 My 5 pairs of pants....

Seven kids?? Wowza!! A single Mom? Impressive! Most impressive! My grandmother was a single Mom for 7 kids too. And two of her daughters were single Moms. So I've got a soft spot for single Moms.

What an awesome haul you had from the stores. Yay! After picking up a couple more items this week (a silk shawl and a sheer coverup top), my spring-summer wardrobe is now complete. I'll just pick up a few more blouses if they come easily. Nothing to fret over now. So my makeover is complete. I've figured out what to wear with each mobility device - walker, scooter and e-tricycle. It never occurred to me before being physically disabled that you have to dress differently. Boy oh boy it's been a lesson!! And I'm still nowhere near comfortable. But I'll keep trying. If you don't mind my asking, do you use a mobility device?
