Lcwra - when will I receive my first payment?
Hi ,I've recently been informed that I've been successful with my application for lcwra by a message posted on my journal on the 25th November, I had my assessment over the telephone on the 9th November. I know there's a 3 month waiting period before I receive my first payment but I'm confused about the date the 3 month waiting period starts, my first sick note was on the 1st September and the second was 25th September and the third sick note was 20th November, is this enough information for you to tell when I might get my first lcwra payment, thank you .

First payment will be either Jan or Feb 2024. The exact date will depend what date you usually receive your money each month.Either way there’s no LCWRA element owed to you.1

Thank for the quick answer to my questions, I get my uc payments on the 4th of every month ,will I get lcwra on the same date ?0

LCWRA is part of UC so yes on the same date and it increases your maximum entitlement by £390.06/month.Your waiting period is Oct to Jan… LCWRA starts from assessment period 28th Jan to 27th Feb and first payment is 4th March. This is assuming you’re not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim.1

Hi all, I am in a simular situation, I put my fit not in on 28th Feb 2024, it was for 3 month, I had my assessment on the 15th of May, and a letter to say I qualify for the lcwra on the 21st of May, my UC payment started on the 29th of March, so I am wondering when my first Lcwra payments will start as I didn't need to put in the 2nd fit note, so will the 3 months waiting period start from when I had the assessment or, when I passed it or when I put my first and last fit not in back in February? As on my payments on my journal I know I ain't getting it this month, 29th may. And what will be back dated of any does thank you all. Gavin

If 28th Feb was the same date you reported your health condition your waiting period will be.. March/April, April/May, May/June.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 23rd June to 22nd July and first payment will be 29th July. No LCWRA element is owed. This is because it's not paid at all during the waiting period.
The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods and the extra money is then paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that month.
If you or a partner were receiving earnings since you provided your first fit note and you didn't have the work allowance then you will be owed some money from that.

Thank you for your quick reply, it has put my mind at rest now. It's a shame we got to wait those extra months for the payment. Thank you again

hi so similar to these posts just confused on it me n my partner have joint claim he got awarded lcwra a couple months back and his first sick note was submitted on 24th April when would we expect this added on assessment period is 14th to 13th n paid on 20th

Assuming there were no gaps in the fit notes until a decision was made then the waiting period will be as follows.
May/June, June/July, July/August.. LCWRA starts from 14th August to 13th Sept and first payment will be 20th September. No LCWRA element is owed.
If either of you received earnings since the first fit note was provided and you didn't previously have the work allowance you will be owed some money from that.

Assuming there were no gaps in your fit notes your waiting period will be as follows…
July/Aug, Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct.. LCWRA starts from 20th Oct to 19th Nov and first payment will be 26th November. No LCWRA element is owed.
If you or a partner were receiving earnings and you didn't have the work allowance you will be owed some money from that.

I’m in a similar situation. My sick note started on the 11th of July. When would I receive my payments. I was confirmed to receive LWCRA on the 2nd of August once all medical evidence was given.

Hello, I'm in the same situation now.
I got my work capability assessment’s outcome on Tuesday, saying I have limited capability for work and work-related activities (LCWRA).
The first fit note I gave to Universal Credit was on the 21st of May. Can anybody help me with my first payment date, please? I can't work it out. Any help is much appreciated xx

There is a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to your payment.
In order to help we will need to know the following:
Were there any gaps in your Fit Notes?
Your assessment period & payment dates.

Thank you for your answer xx
No, I've had no gaps in between my fit notes. What do you mean by assessment period? The thing on my Universal Credit statements? It’s always from the 29th to the 28th and I get paid every month on the 5th.0
