Because of Universal Credit’s use of ‘assessment periods’, I really would understand someone getting confused 😂😵‍💫 on when they’d actually see the increase. 📈 🔺🆙

It’s not the easiest to understand for some of us. 😹🤭🤣😂

As I said @Kimmy87, my assessment periods last from the 6th to the 5th. Because my April assessment period starts on 6th April, I guess then I’ll see the increase 📈 in my May payments? 📆🗓️📅

I know I’ll see the increase 📈, it’s just a question of when exactly? ⏱️⌚️📆🗓️📅

Will I see the increase reflect in my May payments or a month later in June? 🕰️ ⏰📆🗓️📅

    Even though I don’t have to I’ll repeat again, my APs are 6th - 5th. @Kimmy87

The exact date the new rates take affect is April 7th and as this news 🗞️ 📰 article says, it’ll depend on the claimant’s assessment periods. Seeing as my April assessment period would last from 6th April to 5th May, would I see the increase in my May payments? Would the 6th April - 5th May AP be a classified as a ‘full assessment period’, therefore I would see the increase 📈 show in my payments for the month of May? 🙈🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️🤷🤔😂

I really can understand why some people would find this stuffutterly baffling. lol lol

Ah my mistake I thought it was the 5th.

As your AP starts 6th April then I'd not expect you to see the increased payment in May because it isn't a full assessment period. You might have to wait until June like me.

Well, if that’s the case so be it, I’ll accept that 👍. Better late than never 👍. The use of ‘assessment periods’ on UC really can be so perplexing 😂.

Even the letter I received today about the uplift to rates, it said the rates will change from April 7th.

    I’ve put a circle ⭕️ around ‘7 April 2025’ @Kimmy87.

I’ve had another letter ✉️ today (20/2/25) from Employment & Support Allowance BUT THIS TIME it’s to confirm that my claim has definitely ended. ✅✔️☑️👍 @Kimmy87

Yes I did receive confirmation over the phone TWICE that my claim had been closed down but a letter is the best proof possible imo.

Very happy 😀 to have received this proof. ✅☑️✔️👍 @Kimmy87

The agent that I spoke to on the ESA phone line earlier this week (on Monday) said that I’d receive some kind of letter about my claim stopping. He was correct ✅✔️☑️👍. @Kimmy87

I’m not really sure if I want to keep my account. That’s because I just can’t accept having a post that’s not up to my standards.

Yes it’s only a forum, it’s informal. You’re not back at school 🏫 and there’s no-one questioning a mistake in your writing. But, I care deeply about my writing. 🖊️🖍️✏️✍️

I try my damn hardest to get my writing 📝 spot on in the 15-minute period where you get a chance to edit your writing. I just can’t accept looking at a post that’s not fully, fully up to scratch after that 15-minute window has elapsed.

It plays on my mind 😩😩😩 when a post doesn’t meet my requirements ❌❌❌ and it’s too late to edit it.

15 minutes isn’t a huge amount of time 🕰️⏱️ to edit a post - that soon passes!

A post that’s not perfect, it just looks hideous/unsightly to me. 🙈🙈🙈🫣🫣🫣

The Scope Community Team are a lovely ☺️ bunch but they’ve expressed that they can’t continue making edits for me.

That’s because they’re busy people, they do have other responsibilities.

That puts extra pressure on me to get my writing absolutely spot on within a 15-minute ⏳⌛️⌚️window.

I try my hardest but even then, sometimes that’s not enough and a mistake can still go unnoticed by me. ❌❌

If I don’t get my writing correct within that 15-minute window, I’d then be stuck with a post that I’m not happy with. 😩😩🫣🫣
