This thread is now being trolled. I started it for those who may have an interest in learning more about Christanity and for those who are Christians. I don't care if reasonabe debate is had. I am not here to be insulted, Perhaps you are not familiar with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament-Gifts given to Christians usually after Baptism. This in the Bible and I will not debate this with you (1 Corithians 12 (1-30). I do not open threads I have no interest in, but that is me. Why not a general thread on religion if you so have much interest in, it is not in good practise to take over this thread.
Regards to another question by another poster. I do particularly at this point in time wish to discuss about my interests. Believe I have them and am aware of how to use a forum.

@Ranald please remind yourself of the House Rules. Remember to be civil and supportive.

Christianity has caused a huge amount of damage to my life because my mother and sister became Christians and because I cannot force myself to accept such a patently ridiculous set of assertions they decided that I am evil and threw me out and made me homeless. Christians only want to help people who are willing to be taken in by their rubbish or at least pretend to do so. I even tried a thought experiment of accepting it and trying it out but I am just not capable of that level of self deception and so I am not worthy of help.
Not what you wanted but it's what you asked for. autistic experiences of Christianity. Christians would literally turn their back on me when they discovered I wasn't a member of the club. The club that causes so much division and strife in the world!! I would never discriminate against a Christian because they are Christians but not so the other way around.

bookrabbit clearly you experienced a painful situation there for you. I do think it is normal to set aside family members because they have the same faith as you. Faith is a personal thing and you seek out information and then it is up to decide to do what you want to do. If you want it to, I hope the situation with your family can be resolved.
I myself have had experiences as well with others not understanding that having some conditions doesn't mean you cannot have your faith and it doesn't you need healing or that other forces are using you. I carve and set out my own relationship with my faith which is the only thing that keeps me going.
The experiences I referred to I think was the links I posted to other autistic people who are Christians their journey if others chose to look at some. I wasn't referring to peoples personal experiences on the forum.
I communicate with people who are not Christians as well. For me though I have to be careful with what I see and hear.
Moving on-I may be starting a new job soon. I may be called into a position to give myself to others and really I need to be calm to do this and to serve them properly and not be diverted by uncessary things.

I meant above in what I wrote to brookrabbit that I do not think it is normal to set aside family members for not having the same faith as you.

You are posting links to American websites and keep referring to "some autistics" 🙄
We are sharing our autistic experiences of Christianity on a thread entitled Autistic experiences of Christianity
Why not a general thread on religion if you so have much interest in, it is not in good practise to take over this thread.
He doesn't. This is the only one of its kind on this forum. Ranald engages in a variety of topics with intelligence and wit. We all know where to read religious text, if we wish to.
Religion is divisive (and nothing to do with autism!)

You have made it very clear you have no interest in Christanity and I respect that. You have also apparently have no interest in religion either so on that matter in this thread I don't see a scope for dialogue. There is potential of most things to be used positivily or negatively s in this world.
Some autistics as clearly it does not pertain to all, how more transparent does it need to be.
The Premier Christian website where some of the autistic stories came from I would thought was a UK website. Whether you are American or reside in the UK I wouldn't imagine it really matters in regards to Autism and faith.
This thread as I have stated was titled Autistic experiences of Christanity regarding the stories of autistic people who are Christian their experiences of it. It seems like sometimes like some people are looking to be combative.
As I have written there is a long old school of thought that autistics cannot get religion. There is new information out there that goes against this.
People are free to do they want. That includes me if I want to have a thread for people interested and a space for other Christians as well. I am not sure why you need to know about my personal life.

Let's say a vegetarian opened a thread which was taken over by meat eaters. What is the point in that.
I don't think really I have really given any personal views as such. A lot of the debate now is a general bash on religion which it go in that direction, but not one I partake in.
It is so easy to start another thread.
I see some people editing and I would have liked to have added the stories new ones to the original post.
I used to like opening the thread and reading, I don't get joy out of entering flame worthy debates.

There is no connection between Autism and faith and I have no interest whatsoever in your personal life. I do have autistic experiences of Christianity though which is why I commented on this thread.
It does matter. Religious extremism is rife over there. We live in a very dangerous world..

WbatThe I have not used the words that there is a connection between autism and faith. So where you get this from I have no idea and I have replied about this previously to your question. I already discussed as well about theory of mind and religion where is concerned. You can research that more if you care to from the research that has been provided.

I am diagnosed with autism and have several level 2 needs as I wrote in my first post. May be some people should read it again. I spent a bit of time before I made the post reading the forum. I am not a very wordly person and don't do chat very well and have very limited restricted intersts as part of my autism and that is how I am as well. I have also have level 2 communication needs as well. I am not so chatty like some people on here it seems. I do like some aspects of nature and have my own Youtube channel for that. I have had other intersts to in my life. I am not a child, so some of these interests have stalled like collecting fun t-shirts. I have outgrown that. My faith for me is the most important in my life and my family as well.
I wrote this before-I didn't really expect anyone to post from observing the forum, and thought the first post may just stand to read the stories if anyone was interested and when others replied I thought perhaps there was some potential for this thread to be a support thread for other Christians as well and potentially those who may have questions as well who were interested. I didn't perceive any of this how it got derailed to me. I haven't experieced this on other autistic forums, but was looking after a while to have a conversation with those who I had not encountered on this forum and their take.
I started being perhaps being too text based and then loosened up to fit the forum which directed me which was helpful. After the difficult experiences for me I was just use it for the sharing of important information and didn't express about my own needs and difficulties here much beyond scripture because of the hostile environment.
Some people can very different online to they are offline and I am not like that at all and don't really get it.
I have had a look at those who I linked and the Premeir is in the UK and most people were actually from the UK and a further two stories were posted and that is fine as well.
I will say I do like this article from Premier as well. None of the people were autistic but they all have their own challenges and are disabled as well. Some of their take on things I do like and one of them has their own supportive page on Youtube as well.
Good luck everybody with your life.

Congratulations everyone for getting to page 5 on this thread. It looks like an engaging conservation. Well done to @MsR for being the first person to post on page 5

I'm sorry but I don't think religion topics should be allowed on this forum, It will always get into a heated argument and I don't know why scope is allowing it to go on. One of the reasons why I stopped commenting and coming to the forum is becuase of these types of threads being allowed on the forum. I come on this forum to help others, not to be scaremongered about benefits everyday or have any sort of religion shoved down my throat.
I'm the sort of person who believes religion is the biggest wrong with the world, it has done nothing but start wars, killed people and is our biggest set back in life. If you want to practice religion then it should be a private affair and not intrude or be pushed onto others. Being autistic I just don't get the justification to try make others christian, or constantly trying to brainwash others. religion is nothing but the biggest fairytale ever told, and thats all it is. The bible and all other religion text were man made and taken from stories or misinterpreted information. If a christian actually did some research into what they are beleiving in and understood that most of the bible is actually talking about constallations in the sky or other events in history. You can believe in an afterlife without being religious. I could go on for hours about this, but I'll leave it at that
I'm sorry but these topics really annoy me, and again I don't understand why scope allows them on their forum. On other forums its a dead set rule not to talk about religion, and its one of the reasons I'm staying away from here.

Hi all, just a reminder to please be respectful to others. Civil, safe and supportive as always.
You may not agree on certain topics, and disagreements are all part of life. But if you don't wish to contribute to the discussion in a meaningful way and things start getting personal, then often it's better to step away and join in with discussions elsewhere 😊

It can be interesting for me to read and learn where some people explain like brookrabbit did yesterday and the post today expressing how they feel about religion.
I was thinking the links would stay and no conversation would be had. I searched looking for threads to join several times and nothing on my faith. Even forums with no religious section sometimes debate is had among other autistics about faith matters.
At the end of the day peoples faith is down to have one or none. I certainly have no intention to shove down anyones throat. It doens't work like that. The newest research has been added and if anyone wants they can choose for themselves.
All forums are unique and some new people will be here and wanted to converse with them on others matters of interest and where I may be helpful in other areas as well.
I had the interview second one and it looks good. This is for the hospital chaplain volunteer/pastroal visitor. King's also have this advertised King's in London, but careful if interested as I followed this in 2022 and was informed passing that there was no voluntary role at the end.
I wanted to results I mentioned to show it is what it is and I have other conditions and I am in a position above anyone and have been disabled for decades.
I want to show also two forums for neuro diverse people who have autism mostly and they sections where to discuss spirituality and faith. It may not always plain sailing but people to get have a say and one thread is not taken over if you know what I mean lol. New people are here though who may have not heard and be in the loop. Eye opening and thank you.
