UC50 form

When I spoke to my work coach she mentioned to me that she would send out a UC50 form, from day 1 it was said that i would not be expected to look for work because of my circumstances , its been a few weeks now since I was told the form was going to be sent out to me .
I read it can take 3 months from when fit notes are sent in. I have submitted one and its for 3 months , I need another 1st September, wondering if I have to wait until September to receive it ?
If I am passed as unfit for work , is the £390 back paid and if so is it from when the UC50 has been filled in or is it back paid from the day I claimed UC and declared my illnesses ?
Thank you as always .

Usually you're referred on day 29 (in some circumstances it can be from day 1) you will know when you're referred because you will receive a letter on your journal telling you that they are referring you. A few days later you'll receive the form in the post.If you don't receive the referral letter soon put a note on your journal and ask them to refer you. It has been known for them to forget to do this.If found to have LCWRA then it starts from the start of your claim because that's when you reported your health condition. The waiting period before the extra money is paid is 3 months, then it's paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition. It's not paid at all during the waiting period.Quite often it can take longer than this for a decision to be made. If it does take longer then you'll receive all the money that's owed (from the 4th month.) If a decision is made before the end of the waiting period then you will need to wait until the 4th month before you receive any extra money. You will not be owed any LCWRA element in this case. You will need to make sure you continue to send fit notes until a decision is made.

Have you received the UC50? If not you need to chase it.
If the LCWRA element is awarded it will be backdated if applicable. If waiting period is from the Fit Note was first supplied as along as continuous notes are then supplied until the decision is made.1 -

It's gone 29 days now , how do I word it about being referred please Poppy ?
I think I will need another fit note , I will ask the lung function nurse for one 24th August when I get my CPAP machine , I do not want to ask my GP they are horrible about fit notes, I haven't worked in 25 years do not have a job so I cannot see my GP giving me a fit note and if they did it would probably be for 7 days , so my next hope is my lung function nurse and I shall ask for a 3 month fit note and hopefully that will see me through the assessment .

Just ask them to please refer you for the WCA.

Hi, I have completed a health assessment referral for you just now. Please keep your fit notes safe. I have changed your question to a 'payment' question so that your Case manager can respond to you as they will deal with the SMI if it's relevant to your household.. Kind regards

It wasted a month of my fit note with the waiting , I am so stressed about fit notes , cos my GP are horrible they would have me crawl to work rather than give me a fit note, considering I haven't had a job for over 20 years not sure how this will pan out other than causing me more anxiety on top of my already anxiety .0

I don’t know what you mean by this.stay_positive said:Poppy

You’ve been very fortunate up to now because all your work commitments have been switched off.0 -
It's just as well they have because I would end up in hospital with extreme panic the way i am right now , all this is so awful its causing me so much anxiety .0

The waiting is always the worst part of any benefits claim. Try not to let it stress you, i know it's difficult but the good thing is that you don't have any work commiments. It would be so much worse if you did.

Good Morning Poppy, I've received the UC50 form just now , you are right and I am very fortunate that I don't' have any work commitments, I am trying to stay calm and as my counsellor said l cannot change anything while waiting so I am going to get some crocheting going again make some pumpkins for Autumn.
The form needs to back by 11 August . My husband is reading through and is going contact MacMillan benefits advisor who helped me fill in the PIP form .
I would be grateful for any input from you or any other member on how to answer questions etc.
Thank you as always and you are very appreciated .0 -
Does crocheting help you to stay calm @stay_positive, especially while you are waiting? Are there any questions, in particular, you are struggling to fill in? We are all here for you and we will support you the best we can0
