Assessment Providers Getting Instant Access to Medical Info?

Has anyone heard/read about this?
I spoke with Capita today as they cancelled my assessment. The chap mentioned something they are apparently due to get next year (apologies I cannot for the life of me remember what he called it) something that means they can access claimants' medical info themselves rather than having to ask/contact our supporting medical professionals. This seems worrying, because to my mind the written, often inaccurate and sketchy notes kept will never provide the quality of information that an actual chat with say, in my case, an MS Nurse, would do. And how very intrusive! How far back might they be able to go??

I've not heard of anything. Though they can't access anything or contact anyone without your consent, so if you don't agree then they can't access them. They very rarely contact anyone anyway so i'm sure accessing medical records will be a rare thing, if they do that.
