Hi - New here  :) I recently applied for PIP on behalf of my daughter (16) and I received a message that her report has been received but she wasn't invited for an assessment. Is this a bad sign? We didn't ever apply for DLA, even though we were encouraged to because I found the forms too difficult (emotionally) to complete so this is all new to us. I've read up that most people have at least a telephone assessment so I don't know why they haven't requested this from her? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on her conditions and situation they may have been able to make the decision based on what you wrote in the forms and any evidence you've sent in

It's happened to me before and seems a bit more common since COVID

It's not necessarily a good or bad sign but you can appeal and perhaps point out they didn't assess you and that you'd like the opportunity to give more info, if you get a negative response

    Good luck!!!

Thanks for your reply :) I'm really hoping I have filled in the forms well enough for her! She does have 2 diagnosis's - ASD and Dyspraxia which I have included but it's really difficult to 'prove' things that don't happen, ie leaving the house unaccompanied.

Hi @Cuppaandcake, welcome to the community. As Mustang has put above, it might mean that your daughter has had a paper assessment which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it's because they have all the information they need from your forms, sometimes it's for other reasons, so it's difficult to say why it's happened.

I'll pop your post over to our PIP section where more members can find it and offer their thoughts. I hope you're not waiting too long for a decision and your daughter gets the result you're both hoping for. Fingers crossed! :)
