Fundraising with a disability
Hello all, I work in fundraising for a large UK based charity, and am researching how we can better support our supporters with disabilities when fundraising. I hope it is okay to ask some questions on this online community, as I'd love some insight from a variety of people.
Do you feel individuals with disabilities face barriers when fundraising? If so, what barriers?
Upon signing up to fundraise, do you think supporters would be happy to be asked if they have a disability which requires additional/alterative support?
Do you feel there is a lack of charity sports events which are accessible to those with a physical disability? For example, walks, runs, cycles etc.
I would be delighted to hear back from this community with your thoughts, or if you'd like to share any good/bad experiences fundraising please let me know. I am happy to talk privately if preferred.
I apologise in advance if this type of post is not appropriate for this community.
All the best,
Jenny
