Mile Stones.

Another milestone in my life

Another birthday in my life

I do not care that I passed 65,

The journey means that I survived.

It’s a well-known fact you know

People who have lots of birthdays live longer.

So when you see me down the street

Remember you need years to complete

I have had children and a wife

A marriage over 50 years its not been all strife.

I had holidays abroad, took the kids, there all on board

The memories will stand the test of time

So don’t be dismayed in getting old,

It is God's way of giving you time I’m told

There are things you still want to do?

So make a list, AND GET ON WITH IT.

Onebigvoice.

03/08/2024.

As an extra, I started an add-on your bit, so it doesn’t have to rhyme, it’s what you want to add to the bucket list of to-do things.

It could be one line or an essay, its all down to you.

    I'm sold on being old

With lots to do at 62

And more to see at 63

I'll still be poor at 64

    Perhaps alive at 65

    Playing tricks at 66

    I'm waitin' on 67!

My eyes are old and a little bit blurred

My speech could be a bit slurred

But there is nothing wrong with my mind.

OH, look out my wife's stood behind.

She said that I can say what I like,

She's given me permission, COS' she's my wife.

I can't contribute a poem right now but just wanted to say I'm really enjoying reading them 😊

    Milestones

A stone, a mile from somewhere

A lone stone a mile from somewhere known

Alone, a clone of a stone a mile from there

You always need to remember, in days of conflict and strife,

They say to try to walk in other people's shoes, to see what it might be like

well to get a different slant, I've done exactly that,

and so now I've found, that there is no turning back,

I've seen the problems, of why they need to fix my claim,

and just remembered they can't follow, to make all they want to change

because I'm a mile ahead, and I've taking your shoes instead.
