I was claiming incapacity benefit and then esa and got a letter to change to UC but I can't finish my claim because I can't take my ID in. I don't know what to do any more and my claim has just been closed which probably means I lose transitional protection too???????

I can't get to the job centre to take my ID, I offered to scan it and send a photo online or upload a photo of me holding it but they won't accept anything I say. They already know who I am because I'm migrating from ESA and have a support group claim so why can't they just use that? I'd understand if I wasn't in the system at all but I am so what's the big deal??

I don't know what to do now as my housing benefit claim stopped and I'm going through a MR for my PIP so I literally have no income now

If I could take my id to the job centre I would but I can't. I saw someone say they got offered a home visit but I couldn't do that either so what am I meant to do now? Do we just get forgot about?

Sorry, I don't have anything constructive to add, but there are a few of us in the same situation now.

As you were claiming ESA SG, I suspect you're part of the trial group for the early migration. The trial was intended to help them find adjustments for people like ourselves, but they don't seem to be doing that at the moment. I am hopeful that they'll make changes before rolling out the full ESA SG migration in September, which will help others in future, but for now there isn't much we can do. You could try emailing your local MP to see if they can help at all.

Hey there @Nougat and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems getting your ID to the job centre. I know it can be super tough for many to get that info to them. I'm not great with the migration process, so I couldn't say if you lost the protection or not. But it would be worth getting in touch with them again to see if you cant come to some kind of compromise with getting the ID to them?

I'd advise you to do as overlyAnxious has advised and contact your local MP.
