Pip Post assessment - confused

Hi, new here. First time posting.

2nd time applying for PIP which first time was last year and was refused. Got courage to give a go again seeing that I believe I meet the criteria in various areas and health conditions have worsened. I sorta know the process but with second claim its been abit different. Had a video assessment (first time this way) with Capita and they had difficulties on their end, ended up calling me instead, then going to be back to video, anyhow seemed to go OK and got alot across.

Not heard anything from them since, no texts or nothing to say DWP recieved anything. So, I called them around a week or so ago just for an update and decided I'd make use of it and request my report also (although won't bother reading it until after decision) whic is yet to come. Anyhow, on the call, Dwp said its strange as they never received the form until 2 weeks later, didn't say it was audited either when I asked.l, which I assumed was the delay. They spoke to case manager and Dwp caller said case manager said there has been disagreement or something with the ATP, or HCP but sure he said ATP, and that someone is going to contact my GP to verify information, they can't say when that will be or what will happen after. They just said call back in 2 weeks to check up again.

Just curious if anyone has had similar situation or knows what ATP is, maybe I misheard but usually good at remembering, not sure what else to make of it, considering they have early all info I have given from GP such as colsultations, letters etc etc. Either way if its bad sign, just can't get straight answer I don't think Dwp caller quite knew what is going on.

Anyways thanks ahead. 😄

If there was a delay in the assessment report being returned then it was likely in an audit.

No idea what ATP but i suspect you misheard what they said and it was HCP they said.

Timescales for decisions is up to 12 weeks after the report was returned.

If the worst happens again and you’re refused I’d advise you to challenge the decision this time rather than reapply again. First step to appeal is the Mandatory Reconsideration.

Hey @Jai_Won, welcome to the community 😊 First of all I want to say it's great you're trying again for PIP. It's not an easy process to go through! If you need support or advice after your decision remember that we're always here to help and support you 🙂

That is an oddly long wait for a report, as Poppy mentions the main reason for this is an audit. It's possible the call handler doesn't have all the information in front of them about whether it was audited or not, so might not have been able to answer that question anyway. Hopefully though you get your decision soon!
