Looking for Personal Experiences on Neurodiversity and Creative Subjects in Schools
Hi, I'm currently conducting a study on neurodiversity in schools and how the UK National Curriculum tends to neglect creative subjects like art, music, and drama. I’m particularly interested in how this impacts neurodivergent students who may thrive in more creative, hands-on environments but feel limited by the focus on core academic subjects.
If you or someone you know has experienced challenges related to this—whether as a student, teacher, or parent—I would love to hear about your experiences. Any insights or stories would be really helpful for my research.
This is a really personal subject to me and I'm hugely passionate about creating awareness and hopefully making change!

Hey @elliekirby, I just moved this to our Education category. I actually have ADHD, though I wasn't diagnosed until 29. I don't have the time just now but I'm happy to give my own experiences when I have the time 🙂
