hi

I’ve been asked to send bank statements and ID for a review on uc which I have done

We went away in may for my mums 70 th to Spain spent most the time in the hotel room as I was very anxious , my negative voices started playing up as to many ppl about etc etc but wanted to be there for my mum

My daughter whose my young carer had a amazing time being a child for once and loved it

I wasn’t sure if I was gonna be able able to make the holiday coz the thought of it made me so ill and forgot to report it to uc

Now I’m really ill there gonna stop my money I’m on LWRCA , enhanced pip for daily living and standard mobility for my mental health my brain just forgot .

I did ring uc and asked the rules of going away on a good day and the person I spoke to said as long as ur not over four weeks ur be fine

Sorry to burden have I done something wrong I’m not reporting it as I can’t eat , sleep , my panics are really bad and any help would be really appreciated

Thanks and sorry again

Hey @Butterfly2023, welcome to the community 😊 I understand the worry about the bank review. What they are mostly looking for is whether you are under the savings limit and if you have any other income. The savings limit starts at £6000 and after £16,000 in capital you are no longer eligible for Universal credit.

You are supposed to report when you go abroad, but you can still receive Universal Credit for up to a month. You do not have any work commitments as you are in LCWRA, so there are no work-related activities you need to do there.

You can still go on holiday but have your conditions affect you enough that you cannot work. You can even explain to them that you couldn't even properly enjoy your holiday because of your conditions.

Your PIP also will not be affected. PIP is not means-tested and is a separate benefit from Universal Credit and is administered by a different part of the DWP.

Are you getting any current support with your mental health at all? I just want to check you're getting support for that as you mention you're struggling to eat and sleep.

    hi thank you for replying

I didn’t think I would make it out there in may and stayed in the hotel room most the time , but wanted my daughter to enjoy a break

Yes thank you I have a psychiatrist , pychlogist , OT, support worker, community connector ….

I can’t really answer phone calls nearly callaspsed on the pip review call so not looking forward to this

Leap team gave me some updated back pay but wasn’t sure what I was allowed to spend it on

Most the time living day to day so will see what the uc review say

Thank you for your help and response
